Started out to do 7. Stuck to plan to do walk/jog. At about 2.5 I started thinking about adding a mile. I was about 2 min faster at 4 miles than I was last week when I did not start walking until about the 4.5 mark or so...

I started holding my breath for 3 or 4 strides about 1.25. Would take 3 or 4 deep breaths and do it again...then wait awhile before doing same 2 rep set. Held breath up to 7 or 8 steps sometimes. It seemed to help me get in a rhythm and also to take in more air or use it better...whatever another wild theory.
