running (Beal light miracle Sunday) 1:05:17 [3] 6.0 mi (10:53 / mi)
shoes: New Balance Trail

Cold but not terribly so...slight north wind so had wind at my back or side 2nd half so that is good...

Ordered a $35 Beal light a few days ago...expected it about Tues...I had this weird thought along the lines of...'if only it had been delivered late'. Well it was to my surprise. I was already worried I would not like it or it would take a long time to figure out...for first five minutes nothing to alieve that at all, but I fiddle with it...it has 2 batteries...not sure if that is good or bad...AA. It also has a top strap that I may remove later...noticed there was both styles. I had that I had to adjust the pressure and was worried it might still be that I would be brain damaged from lack of oxygen in my brain...(assuming it can still be damaged...more).

To cut the drama queen stuff...I LOVED IT. I only used the very low beam and that was enough...I guess the red light stuff is for bikers? I wished there was one more setting between low and bright...I used the low as I felt the bright might actually cause problems with cars and mostly I just felt embarrassed to have the bright on...I felt comfortable right away and that really surprised me...from all aspects...it being on my head, using the controls, setting the angle and of course the shuffling along...i was not dragging my feet and had little or no fear of tripping.

I even felt that the light was a little like having something to chase so I used it even after I could see for about another mile or so but then turned it off to save the battery.

Thanks Koskiman.
