running (OC Trail 2.5 mile loops) 53:11 [3] 5.0 mi (10:38 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Duramo 9

6:22 plus for first half mile...and I was not feeling good at all...no energy or bounce. After about half way around first loop I began to slowly speed up...a little. At 2.2 or so a girl in pink top and black tights went by me. I think she was doing about 9 min pace at the time. I sped up just trying to hang close for next 1/3 of mile...she went on...I was actually going to reverse direction but I decided to use her to pull me along even though she was 100 yards plus ahead of me already. I was under 10 min pace thanks to her. First half of first lap I was just hoping to run 56 minutes...then 55...then 54 but even with half mile to go I did not anticipate going under 53:30 which is kinda the new norm for me right now without speed work.
