running intervals (200's and a 400) 6:22 [3] 1.0 mi (6:22 / mi)
shoes: LunarGlide8

6:21.07 1600

Felt good warming up and first 100 of the first 200 felt I was going fast but it was windy...first 200 fine 2nd was really disappointing...I decided the 4 min 800's were not doing me a lot of good so I decided to replace it with more 200s and a 400. 40 seconds quicker for the 1600.

I can't believe how long the 200's seem now...and the 400 was like an 800...of course the times are so slow but I ran like this before...for some reason right now they just seem 50 yards longer than they should even for the pace I'm running.

Stupid really should not have affected me...the OC track is east west...James ole HS track was north south which is idiotic in will always have 200 into a wind...either north or south....

44.84 more down wind

47.84 but at least my slow one is still 5 seconds or more faster than b4
46.46 I was determined to run faster into the wind

1:43.31 400...just had no power the 2nd 200...

All I can do is keep doing these...I really am shocked how out of shape I am as far as fast form was off today...

I did the 'quick' start warm up just trying to get my brain and fast twitch muscles activated for good starts that get me up to a quick pace and the hang on.

running (2 laps of the OC Trail) 47:43 [3] 5.0 mi (9:33 / mi)
shoes: Nike Zoom Trainer

24:51 first 2.5 form was horrible the first half mile or so...instead of smoother and quick...22:52 2nd loop which is about 9:10 pace...need to get under 9 for 5 miler.

Last night was the worst 'attack' of heatstroke I've ever had. It was high 90's and had already gotten spoiled by the nice low 90's and even mid 80's but made it around ok...but about 9 I started feeling like the liquid I was drinking was staying in stomach...I remember some summers in Norman when I would sweat so much several hours later my stomach would be stretched out from liquid and I still felt thirsty so I thought that's all it was.

About 10:30 I made myself throwup...not much came up...and I started getting the headaches I get when I am dehydrated and having what I call heatstroke type attack...but a few times it felt like someone had ripped the brain out of my head stomped on it then twisted it after they shoved it back in...

It was so bad Chrissy was ready to take me to the emergency room...and that's bad...she doesn't give me much sympathy...some but last night even she was worried. Finally it all started easing up. Went on for 2 felt like death...

At 1.5m I was ahead of pace for past 2 weeks...not much faster than last week but still ahead by 10 seconds. By 2.1 I was feeling like my blood sugar was already depleted and weakening by the step...every so often I can run through that...well at least in the past maybe...but even in those bygone days of my youth I usually crashed when I began to feel this way...I thought about trying to run 8, then 6 then settled on 5...actually for 5 I did not crash like I would have thought...I just could not go any faster. Frustratingly it was a waste of a really nice morning even with the humidity. Figures.

I may do something where I alternate Sunday long run with shorter runs...

Bumped right knee 3 days ago on door just before run. It feels puffy at times but does not hurt and does not bother me during run just annoying after the it and use the ole Australian patch that helps drain stuff.
