golf (walk at Kickingbird) 10:00 [3] 4.0 mi (2:30 / mi)
shoes: Foot joy Leisure Golf

4 PM

running intervals ( 2 x 400 ) 3:43 [3] 0.5 mi (7:26 / mi)
shoes: Nike Free 4.0

1 before the 1600 of trot/strides and 1 after. The one before I was really struggling but still ran 4 seconds faster than the first one Tues.

The one after I tried to get off to good start and hold it...especially the third...still hard to believe about 6 years ago I could run 3 x 1600 at the same pace as only 1 now...I'll keep at it. I still am glad to have broken 1:45...

1:58.13
1:44.01

running tempo (16 x 100 trot/stride ) 9:30 [3] 1.0 mi (9:30 / mi)
shoes: Nike Free 4.0

9:29.02
5 PM

running warm up/down (pretty humid warm now) 29:12 [3] 3.0 mi (9:44 / mi)

10 AM

running (light rain whole way) 49:09 [3] 5.0 mi (9:50 / mi)
shoes: New Balance Trail

Rain was light at first...gradually picked up the whole way...got stronger and stronger in the rain which is unusual. Over the past few years it got there where I ran terrible in the rain.

running (never got going ugh) 48:33 [3] 4.5 mi (10:47 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 9

I apparently am not a early morning runner anymore...ran early as I have phone meeting with HR the regarding retirement stuff the same time I was going out for my midmorning workouts. Sore and lumbering along (obviously from the pace). Once more I slow town instead of speeding up after series of 'better' workouts. Maybe if I stopped training I could win a gold medal.

walk trot (cooler nice) 1:14:13 [3] 4.6 mi (16:08 / mi)

running intervals (mixed 400's & strides) 16:43 [3] 2.0 mi (8:21 / mi)
shoes: Nike 4.0 C

Nicer and more tolerable.

Decided to do four 400's...alternated 400 then a lap of 4x100 which was just trot the first 100, stride out the 2nd, trot the 3rd 100 and stride out the last 100...but I was resting after each lap so that probably helped some...I need to get some quickness in my steps to speed up to go faster to run further and faster, etc, etc etc

Tried to have better form and hold back a little.

1. 2:02.74 400
2. 2:19.54 trot/stride lap
3. 1:55.19 400
4. 2:15:01 trot/stride lap
5. 1:51.65 400
6. 2:18.22 trot/stride lap
7. 1:48.5 400
8. 2:11.7 trot/stride lap

Ran in lighter shoes and that helped. Humidity was lower also.
10 AM

running warm up/down (after 'track stuff') 30:06 [3] 3.0 mi (10:02 / mi)
shoes: Nike 4.0 C

Thought it was a little quicker but still ok. I'm easing into retirement so getting out earlier and able already to do more track stuff and add a little here and there...hopefully it will help me speed up.

6 AM

running long (death run 84% humidity) 1:25:31 [3] 8.0 mi (10:41 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Clifton 2

Humidity again. The humidity was higher than the temperature!!

At 6:15 was 80 degrees and high humidity. Went through 2 at about 25:30. Ran last 6 in 1 hour. At 3.25 or so a younger whippersnapper that was 20 lbs overweight or more appeared out of no where going same direction but on the other side of the street...I guess he snuck up on me because I could not have caught him...that helped me get going at 10 min pace or better the rest of the way...I did crash about 5.5 for about half a mile and was afraid I was going to stagger in at 11 min pace...I hit 6 miles at exactly 11 min pace....ran last 2 miles 19:30

I will press on.
