I decided during the walk to try heel lift again. Last year when I pulled right calf it was like a miracle...decided to use lift after some research and could run at that point even tho it felt like I had another month to go...I was using Dr. Sholls which were pretty cushy and thick...eventually I realized for running it was hindering me /slowing me down once I was completely I'm going to use thinner less cushy home made lifts from the thin inserts the shoes come with that I pull out so I can use my own inserts. We'll see if that works or not.

I'm doing about 30-45 minutes of various hip exercises, light weights, sit ups jumps, boxing, stretching, etc.

OC trail and loops. Incredibly beautiful here...can't believe Okieland has some of the best weather in country...hurricanes and fires other places.

Hip sore...I am just going to go one day at a time.

Same pattern...hip tightens and is sore but not unbearable at all and as soon as I stop I feel okay. I am googling hip exercises and doing a little of everything...I believe that may be adding to the soreness now but pay off in the long pun there.

Left hip sore...I did 6 miles plus some hip exercises...played 3 days of golf in 4 days where combined walking and jogging hit about 9 to 10 miles a day...slow start...hip loosened some by least it did not tighten.

Started out mostly walking and very short 10 yard jogs...about 7 min at half mile and 13:30 or so at mile...26 min approx at 2 mile...last 4 was about 10:35 pace. Last 1.5 ten min pace....only about 3 stops last 2 miles or so...hip stiffened but leveled off and again when I stopped it did not begin to seize up or tighten more...I hope to do these type longer workouts 5 days a week...not sure when I'll do any workouts where I don't at least start out with the first mile or two like this...may run some where no stopping last 75% of the workout...we'll see how things go.

No speed or strides for set time...might do some next week or might be 2-4 weeks before I go to track. Might consider some sort of time trial again depending on how things are going.

I looked up hip exercises and did imitation of some of them was probably so pathetic the trainer would curse me for my futility but they did seem to work the whether that helps or not we'll see...for now will do the 'electro' pads, ice, head, lots of walking and see if I can get through this.

There is something to be said for starting out like this...and working up to longer and longer 'run/jog' reps or whatever you want to call 'them'.

Dark when I started and felt I was going about 16:30 pace or faster but was at 17. 2 miles was 33:30 or 16:45 pace or at least 30 seconds slower or more than it felt like I was going...but I put the pedal down...hip tightened up a little but as soon as I stopped it was ok.

Saw some old geezer jogging at about 2.8 and I hate to say it but I cringed seeing how old, hunched over and tense he was to pitter patter along. I tried to reason with myself about how I felt but I guess I'm despicable...and fear I already do or soon will look like that.

My hair is thinning on top very rapidly. When its dried and fluffed I think it still 'covers' everything but when I wash it just keeps thinning further back. Had deep widows peak for a long long time but this is in the area where my hair had stayed some point I guess I'll try a buzz cut of some sort...not shaved and not like boot camp...

Have a stupid little gut right at my navel that I just cannot lose either...I'm not even sure if I lost ten pounds if it would affect it much.

Old age sucks...

Started out with quick walking and slow shuffling...about 10 steps each....waffled between doing 7 all the way up to 8 or more. Hip tightened and felt sore but not anything severe. I was aware of 'it' but otherwise felt soon as I finished it felt ok not hurting and tightening up I think what I've done is ok and not too much.

I may do this walk jog stuff to build up endurance and get a good workout in but at a slower pace so that it does not stress the hip. I also may not do that much track work...if I go may be just for time trials for something quicker and on the track. I'll just have to see how things go.

33 min at 2.5. Ran last mile about 9:50. Ran last 1.35 or so without stopping and only stopped 3 times last 3 miles or so. Ran last 2.5 about 26:40 which is about 10:40 pace I think.
