Decided to test things...walk jog...shooting for under 14 pace. At first only 10 to 20 strides at a time before walking again...got up to about 100 but around lap 19 finally felt some stiffness in hip and ham but not bad...just did not know if lap by lap it was going to increase exponentially or not...it didn't and I also cut lap by lap to 80 then 70 then 60 strides...although I did 'run' the last lap without stopping...or kicking in either just even pace.

It was humid, warm and moderately windy but at that slow pace it did not affect me...if I had been running fast that combination would have killed me. Not stiff now but will see how things go...short term plan is for 1 to 2 weeks of walk/jog Tues, Th and Sunday and walk only the other 4 days...it is a fluid plan subject to chance daily of course.

Approaching 50 miles of on my feet walk, golf/walk and walk/jog.

Temp is 88 with heat index 96...lost a lot of the summer heat tuffness so trying to run a fast time trial would have been murder. It wasn't that hot when I started but index must have been high 80's at least.

First mile slower by 45 seconds but that is typical for Sunday morning 'dark start'. Even at 2 and 3 miles had not really made up the pace much yet...but at 2.5 I seemed to just surge ahead on pace without really the effort i would have expected to have to make...I guess the further I go the faster I go in walking too...I was going well under 15 and approaching 14 min pace...I have Sunday runs where I am still around 12 min pace at 3 miles so kinda weird to be walking not much slower than 'running'.

A big dark cloud with lightning starting coming in about 2 miles...I was going to do 5 to 5.5 but had it in mind to go 6 if I felt good...I did so I blazed on. 16 min pace which is normally quick for me would be 1:36...if I had walked that pace I would have caught about 3 minutes of heavy rain...as it was I beat the rain by 2 minutes.
