10 AM

running tempo (8 x 100 strides) 9:45 [3] 1.0 mi (9:45 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 880 WB 4

trot then stride 16 total 8 strides 8 trots pleased with effort as 2 months since I did any 'speed'...in gortex warmups about 40 degrees at start about 45 at finish light wind only.

11 AM

running (need work on puke timing) 30:40 [3] 3.1 mi (9:54 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 880 WB 4

first 3.5 laps stopped and walked around 7 times did not count...was not sure what I could do this was way faster than I thought I would be able to do today in cool weather...hip a little teaky grindy

Last 200 I could feel my stomach do the tightening when I have to fight puking...last 60 yards I was half puking every few steps and had to slow way down...still ran about 2:20 last lap...lost at least 10 seconds. I need to time the puking where I do it AFTER I finish...

Not so sure this is a sign of toughness rather that stomach is not hard workout tough.

Again an uncanny coincidence that when I do about 1 mile of the walk strides that mile pace is about what I can do for my running workout. If I had not puke/staggered last 60 yards would have run about 30:30 or slightly better...and would have had pace average for the 5k of about 9:50 versus 9:46 for the strides and trotting.

running (warmer breezy) 59:33 [3] 5.5 mi (10:50 / mi)
shoes: New Balance Trail

Left calf tweaky...had to hold back some until last mile or so. Left hip was more sore than it has been since I started my core and hip exercises. Poop. Last 4 were not much over 10 min pace.

walk trot (left calf much better) 58:45 [3] 3.7 mi (15:53 / mi)
shoes: Nike Free 4.0

Nice sunny day...wore both calf sleeves...left calf still had a little stiffness way down deep but did not interfere with walking at all.

A little less today to 'rest'. Still an hour plus counting all the warmup stuff for hips and core and a little weight lifting...very little and very light

running (super duper windy ugh) 1:20:25 [3] 7.0 mi (11:29 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 9

Cooler but still managed to wear shorts (the longer basketball shorts not running shorts) wind was fierce. Tried to run the second half with wind at my back without stopping but left calf was trying to tighten...there was no use pushing too much so I stopped 3 or 4 times even during the second half and walked...from the side the wind was pushing me around...really fun. Pace ok with me for the conditions and it being a walk/jog workout.

Ironically this is 45 second a mile faster than my 8 miler that I did not stop at all and had pretty nice conditions.

6 AM

running (did not have it today) 1:38:27 [3] 8.0 mi (12:18 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 880 WB 4

Cool nw wind but this week I finished most of second half into wind...bad route planning! I guess my left calf was jealous of the right calf. At 6 miles it began to feel tight so I had to shuffle last 2 miles nearly 4 minutes slower than if I had sped up as I expected...it's ok...I have had two 8 milers last 8 days, a seven miler and a 10k in super high winds on the track...that is as much as I could hope for and a little crash and burn was not exactly a surprise...I should have just walked yesterday instead of walk/jog.
