Needed to pee bad and no place to duck behind in daylight on the route I was on so finally started doing some jog walking here and there. Save me a couple of minutes or so.

running (OC Track 8x100 + jogs) 9:55 [3] 1.0 mi (9:55 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 9

Felt horrible...weak and dead legs...did not change much during this...barely able to break 10 min after dropping to 9:15 last Friday. Had 2 workouts in mind after this either do a 1 miler and then a loop around OC or do a 5k on the track. I was so gassed after this I decided on 2 miler walk/jog. Note I have been adding on yards to make the distance 'accurate' for the mile and today the two mile. Probably off a couple of yards but closer than just saying 4 laps is a mile or 8 laps is 2 mile on 400mt track.

running (OC Track) 20:30 [3] 2.0 mi (10:15 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 9

3:06 first lap.

11:15 first mile and 9:15 2nd mile to average 10:15. Last half was 4:15. This is the best workout I could have gotten in for how bad I felt. Taking it day to day and already considering this a rest week.

Left knee oddly sore not bad but I have no idea what it's from. Still tired. Backing off a little. Was getting up close to 50 miles walking, jogging, walk/jogging but dropping down to lower 40's and maybe I can't sustain that. I have had workouts where my confidence soars then yesterday some little lady not sure if she was 40 or 35 or 45 comes trotting up behind me with these little baby steps...I've crashed and am walking about 10 yards and jogging about 20 and she's barely catching me...but she does catch me...kinda shatters my delusions of grandeur...but I know she could not touch my good workouts...

I do not see how I could get in shape and run a marathon and not be destroyed by it unless I just shuffled along and took nearly 5 hours...which I see no reason to do unless I was a new jogger and just wanted to say I finished a marathon. I wouldn't even do that for the Olympics or NYC or Boston.

Right now I am just keeping fit. Once I'm done working out I look toned and in shape for a 62 year old guy and no one is seeing my pathetic stumbled jog trotting crappy workouts that keep me fitter than most geezers...but I also know lots of geezers are doing way more quality than I am...good for them. I can only do what I can do...and I do not seem to have any speed left in my legs...they are dead and prone to goofy aches and pains that drive me crazy...my hip hurt yesterday...today my left knee odd stiffness distracted me and my hip was fine.

walk trot (crash and burn bad day) 1:29:27 [3] 7.0 mi (12:47 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Clifton 2

The hard training caught up to me today...I was going to do my super slow start but non stop 8 miler...tripped on my own toe about 1.25 but landed in grass...at 2.6 or so I felt my left calf want to tighten...I was going even slower today and had debated about switching to walk jog figuring I would go faster considering I was barely under 14 min pace at 1.5 miles...but I pressed on another mile...once I switched to walk jog for once I never got into a flow where I ran quicker and longer during the 'jog' phase...I could barely go 25 to 35 yards before needing to walk...I cut a mile off my route and struggled in.

I have pushed it hard for a month and even back to Aug 31st...so not surprising...not really doing anything but fitness stuff and trying to run some semi-time-trials to see what I can get down to. Don't really have plans to race at this point...

Also my heart area continues to feel weak or strained at times. I don't know I ever had a really strong heart and am convinced if I had I would have been a faster runner and a stronger.
