running (humid but nice temp) 46:31 [3] 4.0 mi (11:38 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 880 WB 4

Less and less walking until last 1.2 or so no stops after that...first 1.5 not much grass to run on, maybe a quarter mile or so...last 2.5 probably ran on about 1.75 to 2 miles of grass...started very slow trotting along when not walking and also holding breath some. Last mile 10 min exactly...

walk trot (dragging today) 52:20 [3] 3.0 mi (17:27 / mi)
shoes: New Balance Trail

No energy today. Left leg ok...even after cramp of right calf that I thought might be a pull yesterday just as I had gotten rid of severe shin splint in that leg...back to good ole right knee...nothing but normal old age slight stiffness...also probably from all the bike riding...gave that a rest today.

Here we go again...the endless cycle of train, hurt, recover, get better then start over again.

Reading an old Ron Clarke book...he was done in 1970 mentally and physically...he was about 35 and said for a couple of years he had not been able to train as hard as he had before...he had all kinds of gimicks he used to try to freshen things up but the bottom line was he could not make himself train as hard as he once did...at first he even fooled himself but as he slowed down reality hit home.

Whats weird is that he, Nurmi and Zatopek did not live to be 80...so much for running and living longer...and I've read this more than once...that Ron Clarke damaged his heart running so hard in Mexico City's altitude...he turned 'green and grey' after either the 10k or 5k and almost died...the other thing I had forgotten...he actually ran faster than Pre ever did at 5k and 10k...I thought it was a typo at first but he rank 13:16 for 5k...40 years later that is still good...and 27:36 or so for 10k...that one I kinda knew but the 5k was about 10+ seconds faster than I would have guessed.

But Pre was just 24...I'm pretty sure he would have run 13flat approximately for 5k and 27:20 or so for 10k if not better.

walk trot (mostly shuffling) 40:23 [3] 3.3 mi (12:14 / mi)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 34

Shin was ok today but still ran on grass as much as possible...or shuffled I should say. Walked a lot of first .8...after that I only walked 2 or 3 times for very short time.

golf (Guthrie Augusta) 10:00 [3] 4.0 mi (2:30 / mi)
shoes: Skecher Golf

10 AM

walk trot (shuffle trotting on grass) 37:25 [3] 3.0 mi (12:28 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 9

Trotting and walking on grass really seems to be doing the trick now. Holding breath. It is hot and humid so feels like a workout. Shin way better today.

walk trot (trotted along mostly) 40:43 [3] 3.0 mi (13:34 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Clifton 2

2 of the 3 miles was mostly grass except for entries into commercial areas or neighborhood...on the first and last half mile got on grass as much as possible...leg/shin feels way better on grass and actually better shuffle jogging than walking.
