Busy day...again...James got tickets to OU-Kansas game. I did not want to go but then Chrissy was unhappy so we're going with James and his girlfriend Kate.

running tempo (OC Track) 1:02:49 [3] 6.2 mi (10:08 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Duramo 9

10k on OC track...super nice day. Don't know how many times when I've gone to do a run like this and felt reasonably well that the weather was hellish. Ran in tights...but was 60 by the time I finished. Upchucked just a little after I finished. No real push the last mile.

1M 10:56
2M 21:22 10:26
3M 31:30 (may be off +/- 10 seconds) @10:08
4M 41:20 (9:50)
5M 51:10 (9:50)
6M 60:30 (9:20)
10K 2:19 about last lap. Normally could have run 10 to 15 seconds faster on the last lap.

On Oct 12 ran 63:19 so about 30 second improvement with limited 'speed'.

walk trot (much warmer sunny) 54:14 [3] 4.0 mi (13:34 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 9

Stopped by a neighbor in the back of neighborhood...78 yo...he used to run the YMCA in Edmond so is interested in exercise...yes he did/does it too. He noticed me always out running, trotting, etc and stopped me about 4 or 5 years ago...he went to same HS as Kenneth Cooper (Father of Aerobics) but graduated 6 years later. He does not know him but even looks at his website now...he's in his early to mid 80's (Cooper...I actually worked two claims on a rental home he had close to Norman...never talked to him just his wife).

He has noticed Chrissy at the Y working out on their machines...I just use the outside trail...tried one of their elipticals about 2 months ago and was not smart enough to work it efficiently.

I never tried to surge just trotted along and walked. About 50/50 time wise.

running (icy cold but sunny) 1:10:31 [3] 6.5 mi (10:51 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 880 WB 4

13 WC...but the breeze was light so it was tolerable under my 15 layers of clothing.

walk trot (snowed earlier cold wind) 57:28 [3] 4.0 mi (14:22 / mi)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 34

Snowed about 1/2 to 3/4 of in before I went out. Cold wind but I was dressed for it. Trotted along slowly. Warmup pretty long inside...including trying to work right leg/knee more to 'catch it up' to left leg strength and also stabilize the knee and leg and thus my stride.

It's probably too late to think in terms of going to Japan in '20 but you never know...stranger things have happened. Okay not very many things have been stranger than old Bags making 20 Olympic team in 10k.

5 AM

running (super slow start) 1:32:57 [3] 8.0 mi (11:37 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 8

Super slow first half...about 2.5 I began to go a little faster...its just a combination of old age, the dark, old age, the cooler temp affect on muscles and dressing accordingly and in case I forgot to mention it...old age.

Knee ok. Working on it as I've said earlier. It is looser and ok by end and the faster I go the better it works or the other way around...probably combination of both. Not much wind but what there was, was into my face about 3 of the first four miles.

No split at 1m...
2m about 26:30
3m no split
4M 51
5m 1:02 (11:00)
6m 1:13:20 (11:20...not sure why this was so slow)
7m 1:23:30 (10:10)
8M 1:32:57 (9:27)

1st half 51:00
2nd half 42:00 9 minutes faster for 2nd 4 miles!
