walk trot (right ham more sore) 1:14:45 [3] 5.0 mi (14:57 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 8

My right ham felt more sore this morning...did not loosen up but hoped the walk trot would work its magic...today it didn't. I finally abandoned any trotting along at about 1.8 miles and just quick walked the rest of the way. I started to use heel lifts...they helped a lot in past with my calves when they were strained but I didn't. I'm going to think about trying them tomorrow and walk around with them in shoes today.

Doc K I took my last Cipro/chemo pill today so all those bad bacteria that thought they were going to live are in the process of dying. You and Dr. Julie are pretty fierce medical specialist.

walk trot (sunny beautiful) 54:13 [3] 4.05 mi (13:23 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Infinite

Taking it easy much slower more walking and cutting back a mile to rest up hips and right outer hamstring.

When I took the Cipro stuff I noticed side effects of blood clots in pee and a little more blood in pee than 'normal'...the last couple of days I took only 1 and never took the last one.

My pee after run today was as red as I've ever seen it...kinda made me weak-kneed again like the first times when I was not used to blood in pee...

I feel fine and the blood clots coming out stopped. I do feel like the infection is gone...now I'm back to 'normal' old man pee-urgency without the extra suffering the infection was causing.

walk trot (OC Trail 2.5 mile loops) 1:03:33 [3] 5.6 mi (11:21 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 9

About 4.1 my right hip tweaked a little but went away...about 4.75 my right outer hamstring again tightened up. I walked trotted to 2 laps but thought I might just do a 3rd lap doing that but I decided after .3 out to turn back. Nothing is in agony or feeling super bad...I'm sure I can do my walk trot stuff but running sustained is an unknown and I guess 3 laps at OC is not going to work for now.

Don't know if its the cold or what. I've done everything I can 'google-wise' and it has worked pretty well until Friday. Even at that I did okay Sat/Sun/Mon but trying to run 7.5 did not work out...the thing is two tweaks happened BEFORE I finished 2nd lap.

walk trot (cold again) 50:25 [3] 4.0 mi (12:36 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Duramo 9

Last night it got down to 10 or 11 with a WC of -15. That is one of the coldest WC since we moved back. The coldest I remember is that first month I went to OU Jan 1978. There was a 6 inch blizzard and either that storm or another storm there was WC of -24 which is the coldest WC I've run in. It was about 15 or 16 when I ran and about zero to +3 maybe WC even though there was not much wind (hallelujah!).

My muscles just do not warm up in this stuff...even with 3 hats and a nylon hoodie on my head...3 tank tops, long sleeve shirt, 2 wind jackets and 1 waterpruf jacket on...it takes me forever to dress and undress...and hang stuff up...the cold still manages to penetrate my multi-layer defenses...if I ran further than I would begin to warm up more...yesterday and today even shuffling along 4 miles and 6 miles hardly sweated which is unusual.

walk trot (22 with 6 WC ) 1:18:07 [3] 6.0 mi (13:01 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 8

A dusting of snow with just a hint of slickness...there was traction but I actually was mostly shuffle sliding along...I only ran half mile into the wind...was able to run 5 miles E-W and neither way was the wind bad...main thing is when I'm layered up this winter and it's really cold my muscles just do not respond...kinda like in the dark except I waited until 7 to go out and it was light...I ran almost exact same time for 6 miles as I have been for 7.5 at OC but these street runs all tend to have delays and extra add on that when you are running fast are nothing but for 6 miles switching sides of road, etc actually probably adds a couple of minutes to the overall time due to moment loss, etc...
