Super nice again. Played it by ear and feel on how I would do the 5 miler...6:20 first half mile...fast if on the sidewalks for first half mile but slow for the trail...I was satisfied I had started slowly and safely to allow legs to warm up. I felt an annoying little 'something' just walking around home after most of my warmup home stuff was done. Decided not to ignore it but not to panic either. I probably held back at least a minute to as much as two minutes.

Last Friday was first trotting after a week of walking so the past 4 days even 6 going back to Sunday are a pleasant accomplishment. Icing leg now. I was red-lining it the second loop even as I held back and stopped and walked twice after considering not walking at all the last 3 miles...walking twenty steps seems to allow muscles a respite from running motion as crazy as that sounds. Psychological relief if nothing else.

Loop 1 28:02 (about 11:05 pace)
Loop 2 24:50 (about 9:58 pace) Good! Ok pitiful that this is 'good!'.

Overdressed to sweat more...ran more and quicker than I intended for this Wed 'rest' trotting day but I felt ok and managed to do a lot on grass the second half where it cushioned things more for me. I'm covered with smelly and non-smelling ointment and spray crap from waist down on hips, hams knees and calves...first half just under 13 min pace with walking breaks...so second half was around 11 min pace.

Just incredible. Finally a stretch of days that seems NICER than the forecast. For 3 months most of the days seemed worse than you expected...even if they really weren't...just something about the day would seem colder, winder, blaher etc or all of the above.

Slow start without any idea how much trotting versus walking I would be doing...just went by feel. First half about 13 min average with lots of slow trotting first mile or so...and second half I guess under 11:30...last half mile was about 5:05 and last mile about 10:25

17min first mile walking...a few shuffle trots but they were not any faster than walking...really tired and no warmup just have to get up toss down a cup of coffee and layer up...each mile did a little more until 2.5 or so and then I only stopped my steady shuffle trot once or twice...just trying to get back to some trotting and slow jogging...
