running (neighborhood warm humid) 53:49 [3] 5.0 mi (10:46 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Mach Black/Red

1M 12:55 Terrible start really weak uncoordinated
2m 24:17 (11:22)
3M 34:45 (10:28 estimate +/- 5 seconds or so)
4M 44:25 (9:45)
5M 53:49 (9:24)

I keep forgetting to do my Zatopek stuff first half mile of a run...it helps me warmup quicker. I did surges of a few steps up to about 11 to 15 strides. Held breath/Zatopeks 2 to 8 strides from time to time.

The last 4 and especially 3 were good pace for me...
9 AM

biking (A few Zatopeks) 10:00 [3] 2.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

walk trot (walk only with Zatopeks) 1:04:01 [3] 4.0 mi (16:00 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 460

Carried cases and half cases of water for 4th of July at church...the fireworks were across street and people parked in our lot and we gave away water...did this for about 3 hours...pooped out this morning...walk only. Had hoped to run 5 days in a row but my right calf is a little tweaky and I had absolutely no energy.
10 AM

biking (Some Zatopeks) 10:00 [3] 2.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

running (neighborhood warm humid) 52:40 [3] 5.0 mi (10:32 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Clifton 2

Temp not too bad...south breeze a tad too strong for me coming home last 1.5 miles...just not strong enough to deal with even mild wind. My Belgium neighbor (quarter mile away top of hill) was out riding his bike and yelled out at me. He's having his left knee scoped soon.

1M 12:15
2m 23:15 (11:00)
3M 33:19 (10:04)
4M 42:52 (9:33)
5M 52:40 (9:48)

Held breath 2-7 steps from about 1.9 miles on off/on...not a lot...this is just to help my lung stretch out and get me moving along.
10 AM

biking 10:00 [3] 2.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Some Zatopeks but not many.

running (neighborhood warm humid) 44:17 [3] 4.0 mi (11:04 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Duramo 9

Good run for neighborhood. I was really tired last night and when I woke up so thought it best to walk but I had 2 streaks of 3 days where I did not run (except for a 2 mile 12:30 pace trotting stretch) and I had lost some running 'power' so I thought it would be best to run slowly rather than walk...form bad at first but it seemed to me that it might be due to not running as much and not doing any quick stuff in nearly 2 weeks. I preserved and shuffled along and got stronger as I went.

Strangely enough a good running 'mantra' right now is simply to say 'run'...

12:33
24:05 (11:32)
34:32 (10:27)
44:17 (9:45)

I did some very short Zatopeks from about 1 mile to 3.5...3-5 steps at a time...sometimes that seems to steady my heart and breathing into a good rhythm and even 'oxygenate' my blood...all my own theories...and it's distracting and easy to get in a rhythm...sometimes.
10 AM

biking 10:00 [3] 2.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Some Zatopeks.

running tempo (6 x .5) 1:58 [3] 0.3 mi (6:33 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Duramo 9

I felt I could do some strides after I biked...if I did them right away...even 5 minutes was too long as my body was going to start shutting down. Tightened shoes, trotted into the first one and took off. Form was horrible but for me and for the first stride not bad...I guess the time off of strides rested up my 'fast muscles'.

I really 'smoked' the last two .5 reps...probably just over 6 min pace...of course that was for a grand total of 1/10th of a mile...haha. Note I ran 1:57.8.

running (OC Trail 2.5 mile loops) 53:26 [3] 5.0 mi (10:41 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 9

Really slow and sluggish first mile plus. Then it began to rain...rained just over a mile but seemed longer...flooded the path, shoes water logged...at least it was not hot and oppressive.

11:43
22:43 (11:00)
28:05 first loop
33:25 (10:42)
43:52 (10:27)

Gnats got to me by the end even with OFF and it was really humid.

walk trot (shuffle trot in heat) 47:56 [3] 4.0 mi (11:59 / mi)

Humid and hot...not much push off with right foot...kinda afraid to...wore sleeve on right calf.

walk trot (Sunday rest day) 1:06:25 [3] 4.05 mi (16:24 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 880 WB 4

Calf sore but seems ok. Not sure if I'll try to trot along tomorrow or not. Walk only...this is probably 4.1. A lot of Zatopek breath holding for at least 2 miles...not entire way by any means.

By noon my right hip was sore...and there seemed to be a catch at times in my lower back. It kept getting more sore. It occurred to me using the heel lifts may have altered my stride for good and bad...last time I do not remember the heel lift doing this but I may have worn them more this time so there was no time for adaption.

Anyway I did not use them rest of day and felt a little better. This sucks as far as dealing with one thing after another...doing stuff to prevent pains, caused this, then the 'cure' caused a new ache...all I can do is deal with this with the best attitude as possible.

Once again the thought of having even a moderate racing career seems to be too much bother. If I just walked it would be a lot simpler. I'll have to walk more this week at least to heal up.
