Saturday Feb 1 #

7 AM

walk trot (rest day walk only) 50:30 [3] 3.1 mi (16:17 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Duramo 9

Moderate frost, cold but no wind so not bad since it was sunny.
1 PM

golf (Lincoln East) 10:00 [3] 4.0 mi (2:30 / mi)
shoes: Skecher Golf Cream

Friday Jan 31 #

9 AM

running (OC Trail 2.5 mile loops) 48:05 [3] 5.0 mi (9:37 / mi)
shoes: Skecher GoRun7

Nice winter day...40 but felt warmer with the sun and almost no wind.

1M 11:00
2M 21:10 (10:10)
3M 30:40 (9:30)
4M 39:40 (9:00)
5M 48:05 (8:25)

It's getting harder and harder for me to remember splits.

Thursday Jan 30 #

7 AM

walk trot (99.9% trotting ) 53:49 [3] 4.5 mi (11:58 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Ride ISO

Rest day...have pushed pretty hard since Sunday for me. Even this is 'fast' for a super slow trot day.

1M 13:20
2M 26:15 (12:55)
3M 38:00 (11:45)
4M 49:00 (11:00)
4.5 53:49 (4:49 for last half mile)

I really should count this running but it would hurt my already slow average pace for when I consider a workout 'running'. I only walked some the first .1...but I have to get my haircut at 9 so warmup abbreviated. I did this on purpose so I would have a slower workout and thus get some rest for tomorrow.

Wednesday Jan 29 #

9 AM

running (YMCA Trail) 58:55 [3] 5.5 mi (10:43 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Gortex

Grey and gloomy, somewhere between cold and cool...slight north wind but really not much. Ran trail backwards again. Not much energy at first. Finally got going a little about 1.5 miles...it's discouraging to see someone that looks about your age shuffling along looking as if they are going to die and they are going faster than you are. For how tired I was this was a good 'fast' for a slow workout. 3rd day out of 4 ran 5 miles or further.

1M 12:30 pretty disappointed as first quarter mile downhill
2M 23:45 (11:15)
3M 34:25 (10:40)
4M 44:30 (10:05)
5M 54:20 (9:50)
5.5 58:55 (4:35 last half mile)

Tuesday Jan 28 #

10 AM

running (cold steady rain ) 56:30 [3] 5.0 mi (11:18 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Gortex

Gortex Saucony really came through today...water running everywhere...steady cold rain whole way. This ended up 'quicker' than I expected. 2 layers on legs so that slowed me too.

1M 13:30
2M 25:25 (11:55)
2.5 31:00 (halfway)
3M 36:00 (10:35)
4M 46:00 (10:00) From 2.5 to 3.5 lots of down hill
5M 56:30 (uphill and probably a little long)

Monday Jan 27 #

6 AM

walk trot (rest day easy) 55:01 [3] 4.05 mi (13:35 / mi)
shoes: LunarGlide8

Chilly but no wind at all.
1M 15:01
2M 29:35 (14:34)
3M 42:00 (12:25)
4M 53:45 (11:45)
4.05 55:01
9 AM

golf (Kickingbird ) 10:00 [3] 4.0 mi (2:30 / mi)
shoes: Skecher Golf Cream

Beautiful day again. This cannot be Oklahoma. It's the lack of wind for so many days...love it for golf and running/walking.

Sunday Jan 26 #

6 AM

running long (added .5 mile nice out) 1:14:25 [3] 6.5 mi (11:27 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Duramo 9

Nice morning out...40 with only a trace of a wind at all. 13 x about 70 I guess...from about 50 yards up to 100-105 or so. Holding back...had caught myself pushing too hard Friday...these need to be where I feel like I'm floating and flying at the same time...I added up about 950 yards in my head but no way of knowing if I ran 900 or more likely (I hope) 1000 yards.

I did a few 10 yard surges to loosen up in the dark since I was so slow before I started fartlek surges...last one was at about 3.7 miles.

1M 14:00 (my first half mile was slow)
2M 24:55 (11:55)
3M 36:00 (11:05)
4M 47:30 (11:30)
5M 59:10 (11:40)
6M 1:09:30 (10:20)
6.5 1:14:25 (4:55 last half mile)
