walk trot (some trotting too! ) 1:00:01 [3] 4.0 mi (15:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Gortex

No warmup. Semi-dark when started...skunk in the road...sign of the times...1/2 block from my house...a mile in I noticed lights were out at intersection that ties into my house...no big deal...no storm or other issues but when I finished power out. Got ready in the dark then drove to golf course...unable to get off as there was a tournament so wonderful Saturday morning. At least the skunk did not spray me.

9 AM

walk trot (lots a trotting this time) 1:04:03 [3] 5.0 mi (12:49 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Ride ISO

Decided I could do second workout because I had not golfed. No warmup. Wore calf sleeve this time...took half the run to get used to it...completely different than walking with one.

Afternoon leg bands, lite stretching, leg swirls, foam roller and floor core. 15 minutes

walk trot (REHAB walk only ) 1:22:47 [3] 5.5 mi (15:03 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Mach Black/Red

Flying today. Calf seems ok. The thing is wearing a sleeve inhibits movement some and if I have to run across the street there is not as much push off with my right foot so it makes it difficult to access how close to running again I might be.

No warmup except for a few leg swirls and a little stretching...not much. Temps during day now are low 90's instead of mid to high 90's. In the good ole days this time of the summer it was bone dry and above 95 most days with some hot hair dryer like winds some days that absolutely sucked whatever little moisture was left in top of ground. Don't miss that.

Late morning gradual one by one series of stuff (technical term for super secret exercises): floor core, bridges, planks, 40 sit ups, leg lifts all sides; free weights 15, 20, 35, 40, 50 lbs just a few reps each; stand up leg swirls and kicks all directions; leg and arm bands all directions. 40 minutes.

Mowed backyard, edged front and back yard. 25 minutes.

walk trot (REHAB walk only ) 1:16:27 [3] 5.0 mi (15:17 / mi)
shoes: Skecher GoRun7

Only warm up was a few leg swirls and knee lifts.

Calf feels much better.

Just wrapped up a stretched out post walk workout. Would do one type then stop. Used to I would have gone from one to the other. Leg swirls, kicks; light stretching; floor core...40 sit ups...leg raises all sides, bridges, planks; leg and arm bands; weights 15, 20, 35 (my barbell single weight was 35 not 40 duh all this time thought it was 40) 40 and 50...not a lot of reps but more this week since walking. 45 minutes.

walk trot (REHAB walk only ) 1:00:46 [3] 4.0 mi (15:12 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Gortex

Calf ok during normal quick pace walk although 2 or 3 times I felt a little something that was halfway between 'real' and imaginary. No warm up as any movement might tug something wrong. Humid as rained again.

I'll walk as much and as quick as I can. As I've said good timing for bad thing...I was beat up and I'm going to go back to what I was doing before of 5-7 milers during the week and 7-10 on weekends and do some surges and hopefully at least 2 track sessions of 8x100 with trot between.

Late morning into early afternoon: 50 minutes at least of free weights, floor core 40 sit ups, etc, armand leg bands, light stretching, and leg swirls and kicks standing.

walk trot (rehab rest ) 54:02 [3] 3.5 mi (15:26 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Duramo 9

No warm up due to calf.

Right calf knot right in the middle of it. Ice, heat, sleeves, hard pressing and massage of calf, foam roller. It was okay walking...then with 1.1 I started to trot just a little. I'm in need of rest so good timing for something bad...actually by 2 my stupid left knee cap was bugging me...it probably shifted just slightly or my stride was off from wearing calf sleeve and favoring right leg. Once I started trotting 10 to 15 steps every 50 yards the knee felt fine...no pain involved.

After couple hours started to do prevention stuff. Did not do one thing after another...just a few sets here and there but I kept coming back to it: light stretching, leg and arm bands, free weights 40 lbs, 15, 20, 40, 50 a few of each, floor core stuff 40 sit ups, leg lifts all sides, etc, standing leg swirls and kicks. 50 minutes.

walk trot (walk only rest day) 53:48 [3] 3.5 mi (15:22 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Gortex

30 minute warmup of arm/leg bands, floor core to include leg lifts all sides, bridges, 40 sit ups, leg swirls, light stretching and light weight workout...15, 20, 40, 50 lbs a few reps each.

Immediate post run 20 jump jacks and 30 air skip ropes. (2 or 3 hours later the right calf began to feel a little off...tight is not exact description but close. Seemed like it would be okay by evening but it just stayed the same. There was no tug or pull or anything to indicate that there would be an issue with my right calf...the one I severely pulled Oct 2016).

running long (nothing in the tank today) 1:40:34 [5] 8.0 mi (12:34 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Ride ISO

Slow start but at 3 I began to do short little pickups...not really too quick but the type that help me start turning my feet over...and for nearly 2 miles it worked but then I could feel the life in my legs melt away...by 5.5 I had decided to cut to 8 miles. Wise decision. After a couple of miles in low 11's from 3 miles to 5 miles, my pace slowed until last mile was 12:40. Right knee not hurting but it was puffy when I finished.

Strangely 80 degrees feels like low 70's now, but the humidity keeps staying above 70% so it feels like I'm at altitude where you run slower with the same effort.

Have fought this energy drain for four months now. It comes and goes...I have had it for years but this year way more. No fever or congestion or any other signs of sickness just a weakness/tiredness in my body at times. Also I did not finish golfing until 7pm so 11 hours later I was going out to run long. I felt fine yesterday and expected to run about the same as last Sun which was my best 10 miler in forever...a sub 11 min pace seemed on the horizon...then I went over the edge of the world I guess. Crash n Burn.

10 min warmup of light stretching, leg swirls and leg bands. Nothing special.

I did my long stuff. I'm switching back to what I did before 5 to 7 milers with maybe 8 to 10 on some Sundays. I need to run on the trails as I run quicker on them and I need to get on the track 3 or 4 times a month now.

Googled and read up on symptoms...apparently I have 14 viruses and 29 life ending diseases but I saw where vitamin d deficiency might be a cause of how I felt so I've taken 3 or 4 tables spread out over half a day and I feel much better. We'll see if it lasts.
