Running warm up/down 25:00 [3]

Orienteering 17:49 [5]
shoes: inov8 X-talon 2012

Aus sprint.
Driving rain for warmup and racing which made the granite slabs on the seafront pretty treacherous! Went well through the first few, then hit the right route choice 3-4, after deciding twice that left was shorter, but changing my mind.
Had Grace and Aislinn in sight from the 2nd patch on the granite slabs and was holding the gap steady until the spectator. But then I hit the wall and breathing got shabby. Thought I could hold it together but not 100% sure what happened.
Ballsed up exiting the ccontrol on 14 (or 15, i can't remember). Got hemmed in by boats and jetty, losing 15s. And just lost momentum from there. Wobbly through the last controls and have a reaaaaally slow time down the finish chute.
Gave up a 36s lead over grace to come 2nd by 14s, without any notable mistakes. Very worrying. I'm feeling fit and strong (enough), but something's just not right with my body at the moment.

Orienteering 30:00 [2]

Cruise around the model map. Thankfully had stopped raining. Otherwise I'd have had no dry kit left for the long distance. Took some nice photos.

Running 53:00 [3]

From the lab, over little blackie and across to bruce ridge. Cruised a couple of tracks there before heading back. Sore spot in left foot, reminded me of the one before Easter...I'd better start getting back into proper training complete with strength and injury prevention stuff i think.

Running 35:00 [3]

Stopped at bruce ridge (bridge?) for a blast around the tracks on the way home. Felt rested and fast.
Saw about 20 riders all up throughout my run. Politely went off the track and stood aside to let them pass each time. In total, 2 thanked me. poor effort, cmon guys! where's some common courtesy?! Kind of makes me want to play chicken with them next time, or atleast neglect to turn my headlamp away from shining into their faces.

Running 38:00 [3]

Woke up at 8.30 after a big night at presentation evening, and a quality 4.5hrs sleep. Stupid body clock.
Anyway, far too nice a day to not do something. And my friends were heading out to namadgi to walk up to square rock. So I joined them and ran up, via extra lookouts, then back to find them and finish the walk to the rock with them, where we had lunch. (or not in my case, as I was about to run again)

Running 58:00 [3]

Back from square rock, via smoker's flat track. Followed tracks down to the bobsled place, eventually emerging onto the road from a track with a big handpainted KEEP OUT sign...oops.
And lazed in the sun while waiting for the walkers to return :) Had trouble not falling completely asleep!

Running 26:00 [3]

Got back later than expected from the market (thanks to a 2 stop at the RSPCA to look at dogs...my friends now have a super cute kelpie-koolie cross). So had to cram this in, along with shoe shopping, in the 2hrs before being picked up for end of season ball at 5.30. Win.

up to top of campbell park from hackett and back to car after.

Orienteering 27:10 [3]

middle course that I set as the 4th map of Majackslie classic a while back but never got up to. Good stuff, lots of roos around, and actually found the termite mounds or what remained of them for control sites!
