Had planned to do sprint training today, but given i'm off running i offered to set the training instead. Then I figured, i could probably do most of it on the bike anyway. Should be a bit of fun.
So yep. Did the sprint by bike - obviously some controls I couldn't get to. Like the one at the top of the football stand. And some I felt dicey biking to. But then other times I had to ride much longer routes than the runners, so it compensated well. Hollie beat me by 15s or so I think.
One advantage I have found of having the brakes the opposite from normal; I can do gears and rear brake with my right hand while holding the map in my left.
But I don't think this is a big enough pro to stop me switching them...

Thought i should do some semi proper training afterwards, so did hill reps up the brutal hill by the football club. 8 x up (plus one untimed tester) to add to the 2 x up the hill within the sprint course.
2nd attempt at the stationary bike. Whyyyyyyy. My god it's like death on wheels...wheels that go nowhere. 32 minutes felt like a lifetime. And that was with a tv show to watch even.
Went to test leg. Was grumpy from work (although at least i finished in time to squeeze the run in, didn't think that was going to happen as the day went on). Then I felt my hip flexor most of the run which equaled an even more grumpy lizzie.
Then i went to watch Beauty and the Beast and it cheered me up. (plus it meant 2hrs+ forced to shut up and not complain about my day, which worked wonders ;)

Høiåsmarka. Nore single tracks today. More mud. And a refreshing half dip in a stream when my back wheel slid out on an old bridge.
No brake mishaps tho.
Also, my route kinds looks like the outline of half of nz...this needs looking into to see if i can complete it.

Out to ertemarka. Discovered that muddy running tracks are also muddy when biked. And more of that mud gets on you.
Stubbornly headed up skårefjell despite a lady telling me it wasn't possible on a bike. Ha! Very nice on the top. Very cold on way down.

Went to see if biking hurt my leg or not. After an hour can attest that riding on nice tracks is fine. Technical single track, maybe not so smart atm.
Also need to decide whether I'm smart/fast enough to learn that the front/rear brakes are reversed on the handlebars here compared to NZ/AUS, before I have a bad crash (tried hard the other day to lose that race). Or, should I just switch them myself to try lower my risk of stupid crashes?
