Running - single trails 1:16:00 [3] 13.0 km (5:51 / km) +370m 5:07 / km

Slipping and sliding my way around in the mud at Pukeiti. Did a bit of exploring. Would love to get a map off the pesties guys at work and see where some of the old tracks and trapping lines go, the bush looks tasty out there!
Had a nice chill out walking around the rhodo garden afterwards, lots of friendly native birds to keep me company :)

Drove out to Lake Mangamahoe. Woooo, felt so good to have a change of scenery, be further from town, and have some better rugged tracks! Saw a few mountain bikers and walkers, but had the horse trails all to myself for the second half of the run.

Te Henui-Pukekura loop. Standard

Every time to Te Henui I run past the same paddock full of shetland ponies, give them all a cheery hello, and get absolutely zero in return. Not even a glance or a blink. Miserable things. Gonna request the owner rotates their paddocks and puts sheep or full size horses in the front paddock. Or I'll stop running this way.

Orienteering 34:00 [3] 7.4 km (4:36 / km)

OT's urban score event in the CBD. Pretty cool with the MapRun app. Just used the map in the app, which made things a bit interesting as the screen kept locking, turning it a bit into memory-o.
The GPS worked pretty well too, luckily the one control behind a locked gate was close enough GPS wise to get a punch. I also 'punched' one from the wrong side of the building, but being an honest orienteer I went all the way around to the actual control site. My mistake though, as I got caught by a lady who was just in need of a good chat and social interaction (aren't we all). So that blew out my time by 4mins.
Saw a few others out doing the event, including Nick. Who called me out on my embarrassing mistake t hanks to the event GPS. (Memory-O mistake where I went in one block early. Oops)

Running 11:30 [2] 2.1 km (5:29 / km)

Jog to the start and warmdown up to the observatory. Cracker of a day

Running 36:30 [3] 6.6 km (5:32 / km) +100m 5:08 / km

Evening run, bit of rain to begin with but then just a nice cool evening. 2 runs in 2 days in long sleeves, autumn is starting to get serious. Stopped off at the supermarket on the way home to buy a new toothbrush. And chocolate...to ensure i get maximum value out of my toothbrush ;)

Running in the downpour. Ala WOC relay 2019 or Jukola 2016. Saw 5 other runners out there, all of us with the same stupid happy grin on our faces.
