Note

A lot of disappointing runs this summer:

WOC
Relay

WUOC
Long
Middle
Relay

EOC
Long Q
Long F(B)
Middle Q
Middle F(B)
Relay

This can be easily be explained away by the masters, but looking back at the past few years

2015
WOC
Middle

2014
WOC

WUOC

EOC
Long Q
Long F(B)
Middle Q
Middle F
Relay

2013
WOC
Long Q
Middle Q

I'm only happy with 4 out of the 23 forest races I've run internationally in the last 3 years; I haven't been performing well at international competitions since I moved up to M21.

2012
JWOC
Long
Middle Q
MIddle F(A)

I think I need to look in to the psychology of it a bit more. At the moment I don't really have a consistent pre-race routine, and though I don't feel any more nervous at WOC/EOC than I do at IOC/JK or a LL/SOL, going into the biggest races the pressure does seem to get to me. I know I can perform under pressure to as I had some good races at JK, IOC, L3D and the WUOC relay, but it's very hit and miss; I need to make sure I get the right mind set at all races.

As well as that I need to improve how I train when I have access to proper maps. I think I tend to just go and orienteer without really focusing on any particular technique that needs improving. This is fine sometimes, but I should make efficient use of the time I have on the maps when I only have a few days in relevant terrain (which is a lot of the time at EOC etc.)
