trrail run 3:35:00 [3] 18.0 mi (11:57 / mi)
shoes: rucky chuckys

around pt. gustavus and a third of the way back on the park road. picked up by some hunters and just made it to kelly's high tea on time. felt pretty good until some IT band/knee pain toward the end. ran off and on the whole way, as the conditions were pretty shitty/slushy/icy. Just east of pt. gustavus ran out on the beach near the water line and found some good sand, which felt great. Saw a bunch of wolf tracks in that area and could feel their presence in me.

trrail run 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
shoes: nike roads

partly up the roberts trail to where the ice started, back perserverance to road and back via the flume to downtown. felt ok but took awhile to warm up. afterward has a strange pain in my left calve, which made me limp a bit, but i felt ok when running the next day. only seemed to hurt when walking, then it went away altogether.

alpine touring 5:00:00 [3] 10.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

skiied with Darcy, Toby, Shawn Eisle, and a Anchorage Supreme Court Clerk named Becky. Skied in the Turnagain area at Sunburst. The snow was fairly crappy, with debris fields at the bottom (one whole side of the valley slide about a week before) and lots of sun crust and wind blown areas, but some pockets of powder. It was still fun though, because we got up into the sun on top, and because of the huge relief (~1,200 foot).

trrail run 50:00 [3] 4.0 mi (12:30 / mi)

Ran from Toby and Darcy's place to the Alaska Conservation Alliance building, with a stop at Snow City Cafe. Ran with a backpack, which was no problem. Only saw one person during prime morning commute time, surprisingly.

trrail run 1:45:00 [3] 12.0 mi (8:45 / mi)
shoes: mountain masicist

Ran from Sarah Campen's house to the Indian River trailhead and up the trail to the third main bridge. Didn't get all the way to the end, unfortunately. Enjoyed the trail though, fast but with some obstacles. No hills. Felt pretty good while running, but felt quite drained and very hungry afterwards.

snowshoe 7:00:00 [3]

Snowshoed with Rob Cadmus on the side of Mount Verstovia in Sitka. Didn't quite make it to the top because of uncertainty about the route and a warm afternoon that might have triggered some slides. We turned around just after getting up the main ridge and cutting around the right. Turns out that this is the right route, though we weren't sure. Headed back via the Indian River trail, which is quite pretty.

trrail run 2:10:00 [3] 11.5 mi (11:18 / mi)
shoes: mountain masicist

start of the wildwood trail in forest park, portland to the dogwood trail (where I left the wildwood trail on my day after thanksgiving run). back via the lief erickson drive and then the roads. fun run in the dark. more enjoyable than the other run for some reason. more intimate and I think maybe the trees were bigger in those sections. It was certainly more hilly. ankles were feeling a bit loose and I rolled my right ankle once, though with no pain. The mascicists are hard to lace up tight when they aren't wet. Otherwise felt pretty good, though it took an hour + for my calves to warm up, which was a bit of a new thing for me. no IT band pain though.
