Mostly grand through the day but after stopping working was feelig pretty tired. Took some motivation to get out the door but did it anyway. Nice evening with the sun out and a light breeze. Not moving fantastically at first and felt stiff but loosened up after a bit and in the end had a nice run.

few laps of the track but then Victor was making mistakes and my start time kept shifting backwards so my warm up kept getting longer and longer.

Tiomila - Long Night! - Leg 4 - Livelox (might take a while to load)

Mostly quite good. Fairly solo at the start and picked pretty good choices. One guy started just behind me and followed for 1. Then on the way to two when we caught another followed him in totally the wrong direction instead of me into a lovely spike.
Saw a big group coming over the hill out of 8 on my way in and thought about catching on a bit. Felt a bit strange in my stomach after my gel at 8 though and couldn't push on and got a little distracted. Didn't have the line out to the power lines planned properly and then was hesitant doing it. The route choice was good though and I moved well along the road. At the end of the leg though I was slow into it, getting a bit bogged down in the green and losing confidence.
Then picked around for 10 which wasn't faster and was about to get caught from a group behind. Panicked a bit and missed the path totally. Then got caught and really confused by crags leading to taking life risks jumping off one. About 20 people then standing in the forest super confused. I found it first though, but then a branch took my headtorch off so everyone caught me :(
Led the next 2 legs. Could have been more efficient but ok. Then speedy bad orienteer guy went to the fore. Big time suffer then and no map contact for a while. Knew the path right was decent and when the group went that way I was happy. Tried really hard to stay in but was dropping a bit on the hills. Luckily read myself in at the end and everyone missed it so back in the group.
It didn't last long though, going to 18 I was slowly falling off the back. Hilarious thing happened here though, where the group split in two, me on the back of the second half. First half got the control, but the front of the second half came over the hill and just latched on. I got the control (woo map reading!) and joined back in. They followed for ages (~300m) before realising and getting super dropped :p
Kinda by myself then and went around for the big climby leg. Had I done it correctly I would have caught back on, but I was feeling pretty wrecked and making imperfect decsions, going through the super detailed area when I could avoid it with lovely lines.
New group of 4 then but I wasn't super active and another 30s miss. Hit the path and tried to show some strength. Nick Barrable was there with I realised but the 3 of them just upped the pace and I couldn't hold on.

Happy enough. Haven't done a massive amount of long stuff in the last few weeks. Kinda strange with the stomach though and that's something I'd like to not have. When I really tried to push hard it felt like I would get sick. Too much sugar before starting I think, but also possibly not unrelated to it being 2am. Gotta keep it tidy in the end too, but in general a good first long night experience. Would do again.

Running (road) warm up/down 8:06 [1] 1.22 km (6:37 / km) +5m 6:29 / km
shoes: VJ Bold 8

3 laps of the track. Getting cold quickly though. Then had possibly the worst shower of my life, in a reasonably cold room with the tiniest trickle of war water.

Tiomila notes:
Nynäshamn training 1: https://www.attackpoint.org/viewlog.jsp/user_6293/...

Nynäsnatt 4:
Focus from AP in. Think efficiency between controls, not just straight but straight that is quick. Use traffic lights and make control unmissable, compass + details for last 5-50m.

Running (off-road) 36:35 [2] 6.3 km (5:48 / km) +69m 5:30 / km

Easy pre Tiomila jog with essentially all the guys. Beautiful sunny morning and everyone getting in the mood so good fun. 3x strides and the body was moving really nicely.

Weird knee things going on during the night and woke up a bit earlier than intended.
Due to some dropouts I have been moved to the long night...

Easy oing in Nåsten. Finalising the flow and getting a really nice feeling. With Vincent, Cecile and rasmus mj. found a very injured deer stuck in a fence. On it's last breath even after we released it. We weren't sure what to do really, but found someone who rang Albin who maybe had some clue and then continued on. It was still there on my way back.

In theory should be a map geeking evening.
In reality it will probably be a shopping and wedding planning evening.

Tiomila finslip - Livelox

aka fine tuning. Had entered the long course but decided the "middle" would more than suffice at ~7k. Nice area out in Åland with some great open hills parts and quite Tio relevant. Felt really smooth in the forest and mostly good oing. Took straight options and have good confidence I can do what I need now. Tiomila will need some around choices for sure. Some bad compass direction near the end. Affected by other people and not reading the features like I had been earlier. Corrected ok though and know what I'm doing.

O-Intervals in Nåsten.
Big crowd out which was super fun. I dug deep and hung on for the whole thing, which I essentially havenät done before so was pleased with that. Did forget my watch though so have no evidence. Distance and time are copied from Albin's strava which is maybe being a bit ambitious but did jog back to KG with him & David so must be kind of true.
