orienteering 1:14:27 [3] *** 7.6 km (9:48 / km) +210m 8:36 / km
spiked:11/18c

WCOC meet at Sessions Woods, excellent red course by Peter Grollman. Drizzling rain and very wet woods, felt so good to be out there though.

A few mistakes: #7 too far left, trouble figuring out where I was #9 followed the trail a bit too far #11 also followed the trail further than I planned #12 rounded the hill left and ended up having a tricky way to it #16 Mike was there, I got distracted and ran dumb, down and up and down #18 had some trouble up by the control, should have gone down to the road.
Think we all got a kick out of crossing the "river" between 14 & 15.

FR 9.674 km (Forgot to stop it when finishing)

It comes out that a whole bunch of orienteers have had similar hamstring/glute pains to what I have. George showed me some stretches that his physical therapeut taught him. My hamstrings are extremely tight, hope that's what's causing the pain and that these stretches will help.

trail run 1:30:57 [2] 17.27 km (5:16 / km)

Run at West Rock in pouring rain. Slippery roots & rocks, mud and big parts of the trails were flooded. Tried to run safe, but ended up hurting myself twice: banged my right knee into this metal thing, as I was looking at my watch climbing over it & a few minutes later I slipped in the mud, fell and hit the same knee in the ground :-(
Tried a different route coming back from the greenhouse, after passing the power line I made a right onto the white trail. Really nice, newly blazed, fresh footbridges over the brooks, more fun than the red flat straight trail.

I enjoyed myself but I miss having company on the long runs (that's probably why I don't do them that often) makes it easier and more fun when you have someone to talk to.

trail run 47:27 [2] 8.93 km (5:19 / km)

Maltby lakes with Mike after work. Felt so good to be out there, drizzling rain.

The last couple of days my hamstring/glute pain has traveled to the lower back area. Don't know what's going on. Maybe it is because I'm getting older, Wednesday was my Bday. But it does feel good to move. Sitting down is what hurts the most.

zumba (zumba) 1:00:00 [3]

Waited outside with the other girls for about half an hour and we started class late. The gym and everything else in the block had been evacuated since 4.30 this afternoon because of a bomb threat at the Omni hotel.
