Orienteering 48:38 intensity: (20 @1) + (2:18 @2) + (12:30 @3) + (28:22 @4) + (5:08 @5) 5.5 km (8:51 / km) +75m 8:17 / km
ahr:153 max:167

I had the 'dawn' third leg on the B relay, Tim woke me up at 2:30am in a very excited state because he'd just come back 6th on the first leg of another B relay team. Our first leg runner was a bit behind but I got up anyhow and had fun watching the GPS tracking and live updates from radio controls. Went out at 4am at which point it was still pitch black so I was glad we finally bought a propper head torch. Very pleased with my run, it was only TD3 so I knew all I had to do was concentrate on finding the right attackpoints off the paths and run as fast as I could to said attackpoints. I had two small wobbles, on the way to number four I was reading ahead and thought I'd turned off when I hadn't but I realised as soon as I looked up that things didn't fit and went back to the junction. Other was on the way out of 13 where I got a bit caught up in the bushes trying to find the path that crossed the river and ended up doubling back on myself. Delighted to find I'd pulled us up three places when I got back.

Orienteering 59:07 intensity: (31:22 @1) + (11:01 @2) + (12:58 @3) + (3:46 @4) 7.83 km (7:33 / km) +130m 6:58 / km
ahr:124 max:162

Urban race, control picks in interesting bits with long legs in between. I enjoyed the control pick bits but it was hard work convincing my legs to keep moving for some of the long legs.

Orienteering 1:02:30 intensity: (17:16 @1) + (17:38 @2) + (22:36 @3) + (5:00 @4) 5.52 km (11:19 / km) +72m 10:38 / km
ahr:133 max:154 weight:76.2kg

Middle race, first third of this was terrible, got confused by the scale and failed to spot some really obvious contour features, things improved as I continued though and I got the second half pretty spot on. Went even slower than usual to make sure I didn't use up all my energy before the Harvester, glad I got out on a map as hopefully this should put my brain in the right gear for later.

Crystal palace park race, pretty straightforwards but I felt a bit drained so not very fast

Was intending to go out for a quick half hour but rather to my surprise I felt great so carried on a bit further along the southbank than planned then played dodge the commuter down the Strand on the way back.

Swimming 1:03:47 intensity: (24:17 @1) + (15:10 @2) + (23:30 @3) + (50 @4) 2.0 km (31:54 / km)
ahr:129 max:152 weight:76kg

200m breaststroke, 300m pull, 100m breaststroke
3 sets of 4x100m trying to do them
- 75m steady 25m fast
- 50m steady 50m fast
- 25m steady 75m fast
- 100m fast
then 200m breaststroke to cool down. Tried to keep the between rep rest down below 30s then had a few mins in between sets. Tumble turns pretty good to start with but had to give up half way through the third set because oxygen depravation had destroyed my co-ordination. Recorded highest heart rate ever during a swim and it felt hard. Screwed up hitting the buttons on my watch quite a lot so don't have a full set of splits but they were all below 2:30, fastest was 2:09.
