aerobics 30:00 [3]

Sunday Feb 26

orienteering race 1:38:41 [3] 15.71 km (6:17 / km)
FLO long blue course

Saturday Feb 25

orienteering race 34:24 [4] 6.2 km (5:33 / km)
FLO middle blue course

PG said I could log this as a 4. Felt like it. PR on WRE points in any case, I believe (hey, people are heckling me for a sparse training log ... I'll write more about the weeks races on my blog)

Friday Feb 24

orienteering race 17:22 [3] 2.92 km (5:57 / km)
FLO sprint

sort of as a model rather than a race -- well, I did run a bit harder than that, but giving the training and 10 hour walking days of the week, it couldn't be much of an effort, legs felt like lead in any case

Wednesday Feb 22

running (trail/XC) 52:00 [3] 10.4 km (5:00 / km)
intervals latvian prog 2x

Tuesday Feb 21

running (trail/XC) 1:13:41 [3] 16 km (4:36 / km)

Sunday Feb 19

orienteering race 1:20:03 [3] 9.88 km (8:06 / km)
GNC day 2 blue

Saturday Feb 18

orienteering race 1:18:01 [3] 9.6 km (8:08 / km)
GNC day 1 blue

Thursday Feb 16

running (road) 46:00 [3] 10.0 mi (4:36 / mi)
joy loop 2

Interesting to note a 4-5% performace gain by running it on the road rather than grass. Not sure how much is that, and how much is random or other factors. Nonetheless, I hate running on tarmac, hopefully the snow melts soon.

C • Hey dude. Looks like I will no... 3

another PR. Anger can be channeled. Best to instigate an incident of road rage on the way to a race
C • I've had some of my best runs ... 2

Thursday Feb 9

running (trail/XC) 49:18 [4] 10 km (4:56 / km)
misery loop 2

ok, smoked this one. Ahead of PR on this loop by about 2 minutes. It has been asserted that there are no true synonyms in the English language; linguistic darwinism tends to eliminate one or the other, or at least that's the theory. For my part, I can assure the world that "angry" and "livid" are not synonyms, and "livid" leads to increased running performance.
C • Is that all it takes? 1

Wednesday Feb 8

running (trail/XC) 47:36 [3] 10 km (4:46 / km)
misery loop 3

felt like I smoked it this morning, but only a PR by 2 seconds (not that I've been timing myself all that long). The anger from the proposed changes to the US relay champs didn't channel into performance as much as I thought it would. I do feel I run faster when angry; perhaps it is only an illusion.

Tuesday Feb 7
