Mountainbiking 2:14:46 [2] 43.46 km (3:06 / km)

Had a few days off after the work accident. No ligament or deep muscle damage just bruising and lacerations.

Needed to get out and do something - working tommorrow :(

Took MTB out to test leg - uncomfortable at first but no real deep pain which is good, might be ok for JK.

Dry with strong headwind at first - nice ride.

Had a nasty accident at work today.

getting ready to quit for the day, rolled a half drum of copper earth cable
(100kg) off the lorry but hadn't realised one end of the cable was wrapped around my right leg!
leg smashed into the side of the lorry and cable caught the back of my calf nearly ripping my leg off. SHIT! panicking...100kg of cable hanging off my leg - managed to wrestle free, needless to say I am hobbling around in agony and bound to have muscle damage. Calf very swollen and bruised

Hope it clears soon - JK in 8 days.

weight:78.2kg (injured)

Mountainbike - Drumaroad, Ballywillwill loop twice, Drumkeragh

Nice and dry but stiff SE headwind to start with.

Nothing much else of note - other than my bike has developed a nasty habit. The chain has started to slip off a cog making me lurch forwards violently which is quite painfull.
Thankfully this only happens when grinding up steep hills - unfortunately when you live in a place like Dromara steep hills are hard to avoid!

I have come up with a list of options to resolve this problem;

a. Have the offending chain/cog repaired
b. Purhase some tight fitting and padded cyling shorts
c. Construct my own protection unit consisting of a second hand jockstrap
and cricket box contraption.

I think I will go with option a....sometime.
