Not so effective training week... Stithes will be removed on next Monday. I'm eager to start running and orienteering trainings again, but there is still quite a lot of pain in my leg. Probably I need to continue biking and do some muscle&strenght trainings. Next Tuesday I will travel to Montreal and If I can run then I will participate in Mount-Royal Score-O competition on November 8th. It will be busy trip (8 flights, short visit to US also) so let's see what kind of trainings I manage to do.

We were hunting mooses and I walked in the forest couple of hours. No mooses, but in the evening my dad catched one deer.

I had some strange pain in one of my nevus so I went to see a doctor and he removed the nevus. End result for that visit was three stitches.

Orienteering race (Night) 25:00 [5] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)

Qualification race for the Finnish Night championships. I usually do pretty solid night orienteering races, so my aim was to be in the top 15 and qualify to the A-final. During the last three years I have managed to do that twice and once I was first who did not qualified.

I started the race well and based on the split times my overall position the first, second and third control was: 2-2-4. After the third control I twisted my ankle a bit, but I felt that I can still run, but need to be more careful. Maybe because of that I did about 20'' mistake for the 4th control. For the 5th my route choice was a bit bad and I probably lost 30''. For the 6th I did a clear mistake while trying to follow my route choice and lost more than a minute. Even though I made some small mistakes I felt physically good, but needed to be careful with my ankle. When I was heading to the 8th control happened something that I was afraid of...I twisted my ankle very badly. I realized that my race is over and most probably the rest of the season too.

I made my way out of the forest and was, of course, very disappointed. I think that I was on my way to the A-final with that performance. This morning I went to see an orthopedic and next week I will go to take MRI. Let's hope that my ankle/leg is back in business soon, because this is the best time of the year to do night orienteering!
