JWOC relay 3rd leg.

the running was tough with lots of dead-fall and underbrush in the forest and a brutal climb up the ski hill at the spectator control. I started the leg with the second US team but I dropped him at the second control and for the rest of the course I was running alone.

another good middle distance race. only made a couple small hooks within the control circle. there was more climb this race than in the qualification which I definitely felt. Finished 25th in the B final.

good race. I had a very clean race for the most part except for mistakes on two of the controls. the running felt good when it wasn't uphill (which wasn't very often).

Finished 30th in my heat.

JWOC long distance.

a very physically tough race with a fair bit of climb and green forest. I had a pretty good run up to the arena pass-through except for completely skipping the third control. after the spectator control I was drained physically and had a hard time focusing on the orienteering which led to quite a few mistakes.

JWOC sprint race in Samokov, Bulgaria.

the quarantine for this race was in a sports arena in the city. we got a 1:1000 scale warm-up map of the inside of it including the court and the stands, as well as the basement which had a smaller basketball court and washrooms.

the entire start call-up lines were all inside the building so you had no idea what it was like outside until you actually started.

the first half of the race was in an area of apartment buildings and car garages and then finished in the city center.

I had an ok run. made a few small mistakes. felt ok physically.
