Skiing Classic race (Ski-Orienteering) 1:30:00 [4] ** 9.4 km (9:34 / km)
Ski-orienteering in Deep River, part of the Silverspoon weekend. Nice day again, close to 0 C, so conditions were good, except that some of the skate trails on the far end of the map were not groomed, but had only a manmade ski track and loose snow. With skate skis and no grip wax this made it for a tough day! I took the skis off and run in a couple of hills and one short cut between trails in to one control. Apart from hurting arms from all double poling I had a good race with no major orienteering mistakes. Especially the beginning of the course in the dense trail network was fun.
Lunch at the Laurentian dairy bar afterwards with the Ottawa gang (Alex, Robbie, Bill and Gloria, Bert and Odile, and Bill and Judy).
