Run 12:20 [3] 1.62 km (7:37 / km)

I had my school friends staying for the weekend and we had a great time visiting Beechworth and wineries (including Indigo Winery, which has hosted several great MTBOs), cheeseries and other eateries. Lots of talk and laughs. One wanted to come running with me, so we did scout's pace (jog, walk, jog, walk). I only measured the jog.

Run 37:54 [3] 5.4 km (7:01 / km)

Run around Benalla lake and gardens. Very dry here.

Wednesday Mar 27, 2019 #

Run 45:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)

Street O at Smiths Dell. I had to wait for 2 trains, had a sore knee and it got dark. Gave up, walked back and DNF.

Run 36:12 [3] 5.1 km (7:06 / km)

Run around Blackburn lake and creeklands. It was a cooler night, which meant a decent sleep (for once) and nice running conditions. The frogs were out after the rain and l saw a young fox, in the prime of his life and in no hurry to get away from me.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3] 6.46 km (10:50 / km)

AWOC / Wagga interclub event at Magenta. Lovely spur gully terrain, and a beautiful day. The course was reasonably challenging, and l messed up two controls.
The downside of the day was hitting a bird in the way to the event (it dived into the car). Unfortunately, the bird, now deceased, was still in the grill of the car on arrival at Chiltern for coffee, and had to be extracted using tongs purchased from the supermarket.

Run 34:49 [3] 4.77 km (7:18 / km)

In Bendigo for a short visit, so ran around Crusoe this morning. The water level is now very low and l could have cut my run short by running across the middle. I hope it rains soon. Hammy seems better but knee and back a bit sore today.

Wednesday Mar 20, 2019 #

Run 55:30 [3] 6.85 km (8:06 / km)

Street O at Ashwood. Pretty nice evening and good course. I felt better than usual, although walked up one hill.

Tuesday Mar 19, 2019 #

Run 21:29 [3] 3.0 km (7:10 / km)

Blackburn creeklands. Better than nothing, l suppose.

Sunday Mar 17, 2019 #

MTBO 39:00 [3] 5.64 km (6:55 / km)

MTBO sprint at Torquay. I just took it easy as wasn't feeling that great.

MTBO 1:39:00 [3] 13.36 km (7:25 / km)

MTBO at Anglesea. Great area and interesting course, perhaps a bit too technical for me in some areas and l had to walk some. I enjoyed the chocolateria afterwards, and the best ice cream in the world (double cup with pino colada and mango) .

Saturday Mar 16, 2019 #

Run 39:49 [3] 5.71 km (6:58 / km)

Blackburn lake and creeklands. I struggled a bit, with a few niggles, and possibly more weight than is ideal. But at least it is the weekend - YAY!

Thursday Mar 14, 2019 #

Walk/jog 55:00 [3] 6.5 km (8:28 / km)

Street O at Eltham. I walked most of it, due to the steep hills and general weariness. It got dark before l'd finished. Great area.

Wednesday Mar 13, 2019 #

Run 42:00 [3] 5.22 km (8:03 / km)

Street O at Templestowe. It was a pretty hilly course and l walked a little (I still have hammy issues, which is disappointing). I'm having a pretty full-on week, but at least the run improved my mental outlook.

Sunday Mar 10, 2019 #

Orienteering 1:39:00 [3] 6.0 km (16:30 / km)

Petticoat Gully course 2 - distance a guess. Fabulous course in really interesting country. Unfortunately l was rather slow in the rough country, and can now see some much better route choices. Never mind. Great day out with Ross. We sped at high speed rally style (back roads) from Benalla to Creswiick and back home again. Ross is an Australian champion rally navigator and not only fast at driving and navigating, but also managed to come 9/32 in course 2 men's.

Run 36:00 [3] 5.0 km (7:12 / km)

I've had a really busy week this week (work, including at the steel factory in Caulfield/Bendigo/Benalla), which made it a good week to rest my pulled hammy.

I thought l'd give it a gentle jog today around Benalla lake. I forgot my garmin and my shoes (but had an old pair) so l had every excuse to go as slow as l wanted to. Pulled up OK, but could feel the hammy a little.

There's lots of smoke here at the moment - which probably isnt too healthy for running. When l arrived home on Thursday, l thought there must be a large fire in the area, but not so.

Sunday Mar 3, 2019 #

Run 50:57 [3] 7.0 km (7:17 / km)

Run around No 7 and most of Crusoe, when my pulled hammy started to give me grief, so then walked. Pretty warm day.

Friday Mar 1, 2019 #

Run 47:00 [3] 5.8 km (8:06 / km)

Street O champs at St Helena. It was hot and hilly, and l did my best. In retrospect l don't think l picked the best route, and should have gone in the opposite direction, where the run through the last few controls would have been more gradual. Maybe a run in this area prior to this event (my first time here) would have helped too. Regardless, l had no hope of beating Carolyn.
I drove to Benalla afterwards and now have quite a tight calf (someone else described theirs as a 'cow'').
