Walk 1:46:00 [2] 6.1 km (17:23 / km)
(injured)
Slow walk on a hot day - I decided to head up to Lightning Ridge, to the area I have been unsuccesfully trying to convince people to view for a potential O map for about the last 10 years. I did a circuit - heading out on a walking track then returning via the main 4WD track that heads down the ridge, with lots of photo stops. Photos are going onto Facebook (I never mastered pasting photos here). It was fairly hard to take photos of the rocks as they are mostly well hidden. The area is about 3km by 1 km and covered in granite boulders, most of which are under the canopy so cannot be seen from the road. The whole area is also disected by a network of spur/gullies with lots of unexpected lumps and bumps.
Afterwards I had a picnic at the stream at James Reserve before heading back.
My knee hurt nearly every step of the way and was most painful coming downhill. However, once home, a really odd thing happened. I was massaging it gently when suddenly there was a fairly big 'clunk' at the back and it started to feel so much better. I am hoping this is the start of some improvement.
