Orienteering 1:18:02 [3] 6.8 km (11:29 / km)

SS event at Two Kangaroos Creek. This was a fairly easy course and I was clean except for control 5 where I was searched around the wrong pile of rocks and then went far too high (until I saw Louise below). This was a little disappointing and I should have been more careful on the approach. I was also let down by my fitness (obviously, as I have none!) but that is OK. Knee held up OK. During the week we moved office and I had only sat for about 15 minutes at my new desk when my knee went 'clunk' and seemed to feel much better afterwards. I'm being cautious though. It has some long term issues, but all I want to do is to be able to participate for as long as possible (and beat Louise).

I had to tum my life up a gear this weekend in order to fit everything in. I caught the train to Benalla on Friday evening and had to rely on Peter's taxi and my bike to get around. Ross then drove me to the event and back to Blackburn afterwards. He did brilliantly in the event - come 5th male in course 3 out of 30 starters. Not bad for someone who has only been to a few events. I think he is addicted. I am claiming that my coaching is going well :)

My other news is that I have had a builder at me Blackburn house fitting shelves. I got him to look in the roof and under the house to see what could be done with a horrid sagging wall. He emerged to tell me that the whole front of the house has roof trusses and any wall can be moved really easily . He then pulled out a wall. The result is a really big open plan room and I have now decided to go the whole way and completely reconfigure it and put in a new galley kitchen in - cheaper, he thought, that trying to fix the existing one. Sometimes you can be lucky!
