Note
After the rogaine, I rested a while and then took Ian and Linda to the airport. My phone, which was out of range until now, was beeping and I received the news that my late mother's companion, Wal, had had a stroke and passed away over the weekend. Although he was very elderly, he was a very good friend to me and was the last of my parent's generation to go. I then decided then to head for home, perhaps a bit more quickly than I should have.
I drove the first day to Marla, the second day to Port Augusta, the third day to Bendigo and then home. I enjoyed the trip down the Stuart Highway on the return trip just as much as the trip northwards. I looked at everything - both sides, and couldn't believe how much variety there was in the scenery. It was magnificent.
On arriving home, the car read that I had travelled 6000 kms! Quite an effort. I felt totally wiped out and really needed the couple of days I allowed myself to do the (large amounts) of washing and regroup before starting some work next week and getting organised for my next adventure..
