Run 39:54 [3] 5.5 km (7:15 / km)

It was 29 degrees this morning, but overcast, which made the difference between yesterday and today.
I ran around Blackburn lake and creeklands and felt reasonably comfortable.
I haven't slept well lately, not just because of the heat, but also due to the noisy tunnelling works at the rail crossing. They stopped work yesterday for 24 hours, most likely due to the heat (maybe they stop work if the forecast is for over 35 degrees) but started in earnest again last night at midnight.

Run 31:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:45 / km)

Street O training run at Mitcham. It probably wasn't the wisest move to wait until 10:00 am to run, when it was already nudging 30 degrees. I just jogged up and down the creek area, which had a good tree cover and was channelling the breeze, before calling it a day. Possibly good acclimatization for Perth and Darwin later this week.

Walk/jog 57:21 [3] 6.4 km (8:58 / km)

Street O at Mooroolbark. I got off to a bad start - turned over the map and THERE WERE NO CONTROLS on it. At first l thought it was a joke, but then realised no one else was complaining, so found the organiser and got another one, by which time the opposition had disappeared into the distance. I then felt fairly unmotivated and my knee hurt, so pretty much walked the first half, especially the section through the long grass. It was pretty hilly anyway. Jogged the second half, feeling a bit better. Warm night.

Run 41:00 [3] 5.6 km (7:19 / km)

Run around Blackburn lake and creeklands. As expected, l felt much better this morning. Knee remains tweaky but seems to be better in the morning. The area seems deserted due to the holidays and the closure of Blackburn Rd while the under ground tunnel is built.
That is with the exception of the works themselves, which have ramped up over the holiday period and are in full swing 24 hours a day, including a lot of heavy traffic carting loads of dirt past my house at all hours.

Walk 58:00 [3] 5.8 km (10:00 / km)

Made the long journey to street O at Brentwood Park (or south Berwick), while traffic on the freeway is light for the holidays. However, l started badly, doing a 180 with the map upside down and never really got my bearings. Then my knee hurt running so l just walked. I feel so much better in the mornings
My overall opinion of the place was that, despite some expensive houses and landscaping, l wouldn't want to live there. This view was confirmed after l witmessed a case of road rage at a roundabout while collecting controls later.
