Rogaining 6:00:00 [3] 29.0 km (12:25 / km)

Rogaine at Rushworth in 33 degree heat. It's a dry area anyway and not really suited to a rogaine at this time of year. The event was part of a 24 hour adventuregaine, organised by Thor and Jon, which only 15 teams entered, but you could do the rogaine as a single event. I went with Ron F, but dragged the chain a bit in the second half due to multiple burst blisters. My Trimtek O socks weren't really up to rogaining, unfortunately. We had a few problems in thick scrub with one control and had to give it a miss. We came 1st in XSV, 2nd in XV and 3rd in X (X being mixed). We could have done better if not for the heat and my feet! I was very dehydrated at the finish and drank gallons of cordial afterwards. I think they should repeat the event in more suitable conditions as it is a really nice area and possibly suited to an O map.

Run 39:05 [3] 5.43 km (7:12 / km)

Run around Blackburn lake and creeklands, enjoying the dappled light. Knee was a bit tweaky and didn't really settle this time.
I couldn't help having a bit of a chuckle over the AWOC results, which are now on their website.

Run 49:30 [3] 6.2 km (7:59 / km)

Street O at Ruffey Lake. Nasty course (l confirmed this was an compliment in the O world). It took me quite a while to pick a route and l still wasn't sure it was optimal. Faded a bit on the last hill (18). Lovely evening for a run.

Run 37:25 [3] 5.4 km (6:56 / km)

Benalla lake and gardens on another sunny though breezy day. Lots of other people out today, as it is the holiday for the horse race that stops a nation. Made my first ever visit to a TAB yesterday. I think l must have been their first ever customer too, as it took them quite a while to work out how to place my (quite small) bet. Hopefully they are more practised by today.
