Run 37:00 [3] 5.0 km (7:24 / km)

First proper run in ages. Around Lake Sambell at Beechworth (where l went to get some bare rooted trees) on a gorgeous sunny day. My jetlag has finally gone. I really felt as though l had been tipped upside down, with my balance (and seemingly brain fluids) totally out. Although not proven, it made me wonder if there is some magnetic field forces at play within the body and which vary according to the hemispheres.

My knee didn't really like the walking in Austria and has appreciated the two week rest, with the swelling dissipating. The good news is that Salomon has given me a new pair of boots to replace the previous (new) pair that fell apart on their second day of walking.

Run 15:00 [3] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

First attempt at a run in some time (due to sickness, travel etc) and every bit of my legs hurt. Jet lag is also a problem with both head and body thinking they are still in Europe and it is the middle of the night.

Austria was, of course, absolutely gorgeous. However, the last week was spent in Salzburg and Munich, and the heat was oppressive. Nothing in the environment looked quite right in the heat. Even the Mozartklugen were all melted. I have lots of observations, but am too tired to write about them all today.

One was that the description of menu items in many respectable restaurants lost something in the translation to English. 'Stuffed sheep's stomach with stewed cabbage' being one of the more notable.
