Note

Australian Mass Start MTBO championships at Marlborough Vic. I would have won BUT.....

Aldi special comfortable 4 person tent virtually disintegrated in the storm. At 4 am after no sleep and several hours watching the tent cave in and out, a pole snapped and then l snapped and called it a night. At 5 am l bundled the tent into the car and drove back to Melb. After a snooze, l returned in the afternoon with my trusty MacPac hike tent, which l should have brought in the first place. HORRIBLE night.

Orienteering 2:45:00 [3] 10.0 km (16:30 / km)

Maxi 3-hour (really a mini rogaine) near Glenluce. I wore hiking boots and walked. The wildflowers were lovely. I had trouble on one control - l went down the wrong gully, and later got stuck trying to cross a deep erosion gully, which had passable sections marked on the map, but l couldn't find them. Bung knee was sore for the last half, and l slowed down considerably. I enjoyed my spot prize chocolate (which l won because the real winner Mr Invis - had gone home).
