Peter Crisci and I met at the South Bellows Pipe Trail parking lot. We planned to do one loop up to Mt. Greylock and back down via the Thunderbolt Trail. We both wore microspikes and they were the perfect choice. Still, there was a lot of snow-covered ice on the Thunderbolt Trail, so caution was warranted. Any fall would have been on a very hard surface, nothing I wanted any part of.
