Trail Running 1:13:24 [3] 6.51 mi (11:16 / mi) +230ft 10:55 / mi
I thought that perhaps a nice, flat 10-mile run would be a nice thing to do on such a warm day--48°F, so I drove to the rail trail in Housatonic. Of course, I didn't really know what the trail would be like, so I brought some trail running shoes, along with my OROC 240s, with the studded cleats, just in case.
One look at the trail, with some packed ice, convinced me that the OROCs were a good choice. However, the footing was not great, and I could only plod along at 12-minutes per mile pace; the 10 mile goal faded quickly. I took a side trip up Pixley Hill Road, a nice hilly dirt road, so at least I did some hills.
