Training Log Archive: Fanatic

Geocaching with Colette in the Ooms Conservation Area in Chatham, New York. A pretty area, but with the open meadows, it was windy and a bit too cold for my liking.

We managed to get nine caches, so Colette was pleased.

Hiking with Bruce Shenkar and a friend of his, Mitch, on Mt. Greylock. We started at Roaring Brook and climbed up to Sperry Campground where we picked up the Hopper Trail and descended to the northwest. Then we took the Haley Farm Trail up to where it joins Sperry Road, to enjoy the view of Mt. Greylock and the Hopper.

Finally we dropped down on the Stoney Ledge Trail to our cars on Roaring Brook Road. The trails were covered with a thin layer of icy snow, perfect for microspikes.

After-dinner walk with Colette out to the black cows and back.

Late-afternoon walk out to Woods Pond and back. The snow and ice are almost gone from the roads, so the walking was easy.
