Walking 29:42 [3] 2.0 mi (14:51 / mi) +138ft 13:56 / mi

I decided to try something different--do a two-mile walk as a warm-up before running. So I headed out my usual route to Woods Pond and covered two miles. Then I switched to running.

4 AM

Road running 28:45 [3] 3.0 mi (9:35 / mi) +69ft 9:23 / mi

After two miles of walking I ran over the bridge at the end of Woods Pond onto Crystal Street and headed south and back to the condo. I must say that I felt better while running, presumably due to the warm-up; will have to see if I feel that way the next time, too.

5 AM

Walking 17:03 [3] 1.0 mi (17:03 / mi) +138ft 15:05 / mi

And finally, I did a cool-down, something not in my normal training routine. Perhaps later tonight I will find out if the warm-up and cool-down helped with the post-run pain that I've been noticing recently.

Snowshoeing 1:40:32 [3] 4.3 mi (23:23 / mi) +484ft 21:08 / mi

Snowshoeing with Colette in Kennedy Park. The trails were mostly broken out, but we managed to get a little away from the main trails once in a while and then the going was a bit more work. Gorgeous day with lots of sunshine. We saw lots of other snowshoers and six or seven skiers.

Walking 1:42:37 [3] 7.0 mi (14:40 / mi) +453ft 13:49 / mi

Moderately long walk starting from the condo. Headed over to Golden Hill Road and then north over to Crystal Street and then to Woods Pond. Finally, turned south and along Woodland Road to Bradley Street.

I was pleased to see that the sidewalk in Lee had finally been plowed, which meant that traffic wasn't a problem, although the footing on the sidewalks was dicey in sections.

Very nice weather with plenty of sunshine, hence the desire to go a bit longer than I have been.

Road running 43:45 [3] 4.5 mi (9:43 / mi) +187ft 9:21 / mi

Ran out to Woods Pond and back. A bit warmer, but still a stiff wind to make it feel colder than expected. Still, bright sunshine, so it at least looked like a nice spring day.

Walking 1:17:00 [3] 5.02 mi (15:20 / mi) +335ft 14:26 / mi

Late-afternoon walk out to Woods Pond and back to the condo. Started off wearing microspikes, but didn't really need them, so I buried them in the snow and picked them up on the way back.

Sunny and fairly pleasant since the wind has calmed down.

Snowshoeing 58:27 [3] 3.19 mi (18:19 / mi) +206ft 17:16 / mi

Late-afternoon snowshoeing with Colette out to the black cows and back. Just enough snow on the road to do it with snowshoes, but microspikes would have been fine also.

Saw a car in the snowbank that had lost traction and scooted off the road, but no damage was done. We also saw a guy snowboarding behind a jeep as they went by us--thanks to a tow rope.

Better than staying inside and just eating snacks. ;-)

Walking 46:41 [3] 3.02 mi (15:28 / mi) +206ft 14:31 / mi

Late-afternoon walk from the condo--out to East Street and then south for a mile or so, then back to the condo grounds with another small loop added on.
