Geocaching 1:13:31 [3] 2.81 mi (26:10 / mi) +423ft 22:54 / mi

Colette and I went to a small conservation area in Stockbridge, just off of Route 7, called Agawam Lake Wildlife Management Area. Actually, we weren't near the lake, but rather on Evergreen Hill, just east of Route 7. We we were geocaching, but had no luck at all. I did, however, manage to pick up three ticks during the outing. :-( The only wildlife we saw was a snake.

Trail Running 29:12 [3] 3.0 mi (9:44 / mi) +69ft 9:32 / mi

And then I went to Housatonic to run on the rail trail there, starting from the cemetery. Did an out and back, dodging the occasional wet area, and struggling with the heat. I had intended to run further, but the heat killed that idea.

Hiking 1:58:35 [3] 5.8 mi (20:27 / mi) +1014ft 17:32 / mi

Hiking with Colette in the southern end of Pittsfield State Forest. Parts of the trails had dried out nicely since we went geocaching there, but there were still a lot of wet sections to contend with. A very nice day, temperature- and sunshine-wise.

We headed up the CCC trail first, then onto the Skyline Trail before turning back to the east along the Doll Mountain Trail. We had parked at the end of West Street, where there is now a small parking lot.

Hiking (some running) 1:16:00 [3] 5.5 mi (13:49 / mi) +300ft 13:08 / mi

Starting from the Church on the Hill in Lenox, I walked up to Kennedy Park. Once there I would run the flats and downhills and hiked the uphill. Just trying to get a bit more running into my workouts.

Some sections of the trail were still wet and muddy--need another couple of weeks to dry out.

Walking 58:27 [3] 4.0 mi (14:37 / mi) +157ft 14:05 / mi

Walk out to Woods Pond and back. Cool enough for a jacket and hat once again.

Walking 22:43 [3] 1.5 mi (15:09 / mi) +157ft 13:47 / mi

A 1.5-mile walk to warm up for a short run. These warm-ups make the run so much more enjoyable compared to when I used to just start running from the git-go.

Road running 37:56 [3] 4.0 mi (9:29 / mi) +108ft 9:15 / mi

From the height of land on Golden Hill Road, I started my run. Then over to Crystal Street before crossing the bridge at Woods Pond and continuing along Woodland Road and back to the condo.

Walking 13:02 [3] 0.75 mi (17:23 / mi) +79ft 15:48 / mi

Cool-down walk after the run. Not sure if these help with recovery or not, but at least it's a good way to cool down.

Hiking 1:20:00 [3] 3.0 mi (26:40 / mi) +300ft 24:22 / mi

Off to Bard College today, so I decided to head out on the trails near Tivoli Bay. A short section was a nice crushed stone bike path, but after that came spur and gully terrain, replete with briars. Managed to get pretty scratched up and even picked up a tick, but aside from those issues the hike was fine.

Walking (dirt roads) 1:14:50 [3] 5.05 mi (14:49 / mi) +285ft 14:04 / mi

Since it was 76°F, I chose to talk a walk instead of running, feeling that I'm not really ready for these elevated temperatures. Drove to Woods Pond and did an out-and-back along the road to the east of the pond.

Walking (paved roads) 31:44 [3] 2.0 mi (15:52 / mi) +148ft 14:50 / mi

After-dinner walk with Colette out to the black cows and back; still in the 70s, so rather pleasant.
