Drove to Greylock Glenn and hiked up to the summit of Mt. Greylock and then down the AT to the Gould Trail. Beautiful day and there were a lot of people on the mountain, but the Thunderbolt Trail wasn't crowded at all--I wonder why? ;-)

And then I jogged down the Gould Trail back to my car. This is a fairly steep trail, but it seems to be all rocks and roots, so 'jogging' might even be an exaggeration as I was being careful not to crash. Such is old age--fear sets in now, but in the past I would have flown down the hill. ;-)

Drove to the PSF and ran the Honolulu and Turner Trail loop. Didn't warm up before, so I took it real easy for the climb up Honolulu. Felt pretty good for the run, so I tried to push it a little on the downhill Turner Trail. Did walk one really steep, rocky section, however.

After-dinner walk on the condo grounds. Very tired after getting up at 2:45 a.m. to drive someone to the Newark Airport, so this was all I felt up for.

Trail Running (a little hiking) 1:42:58 [3] 7.0 mi (14:43 / mi) +1027ft 12:55 / mi


Drove to Reservoir Road in Lenox to run on the bike trails to the south of the road. One of the trails is quite hilly, but also runnable, and has decent footing as well, so I opted to run up that. Much to my surprise, I managed to do it all without stopping, although I was breathing hard near the top.

Warm-up hike through Kennedy Park before I run--hoping to put in a good effort while running, so this makes sense.

Trail Running 48:49 [3] 3.5 mi (13:57 / mi) +522ft 12:13 / mi


Trail run on the bike trails south of Reservoir Road in Lenox. An out and back, trying to go quickly on the uphills, but I will say that I cut the distance back from what I had been hoping to do, once I realized that I didn't have the strength to keep the pace up for any more hills. Still, I think that some hard running is needed if I want to run Monroe well.

Cool-down hike through Kennedy Park on my way back to the car. Beautiful day, and I was tired, so I took it easy getting back.
