Hiking (and geocaching) 1:30:08 [3] 5.2 mi (17:20 / mi) +825ft 15:04 / mi

Hiking and geocaching with Colette in Chester-Blandford State Forest from the Sanderson Brook parking lot on Route 20. Pretty much just an uphill hike and back, with stops for some geocaches along the way. The footing was wet and occassionally slippery on the rocks. The falls were pretty nice after the recent rain.

Walking 49:20 [3] 3.01 mi (16:23 / mi) +139ft 15:42 / mi

After-dinner walk with Colette out to the black cows and back. Raining lightly and very windy. Then I did an extra mile on the condo roads.

Walking 20:16 [3] 1.08 mi (18:46 / mi) +89ft 17:25 / mi

Note: I'v been having some problems with ingrown toenails on both of my big toes. About three weeks ago, it was obvious that I needed to get them tended to by a podiatrist. A quick visit to Dr. Bravo in Pittsfield confirmed that he needed to cut out the ingrown portion of the toenails and then chemically cauterize the nerve so that that portion, i.e., the outside edges of the toenail, would not grow back.

Today I had the procdure done--a couple of novacaine shots in both toes and then a lot of cutting b Dr. Bravo, which, fortunately, I didn't have to watch. And then a prescription to soak the feet each night for a couple of weeks and to apply some drops of anti-bacterial lotion combined with hydrocortisone for four weeks. Those drops are normally used for swimmer's ear and were not cheap--$73 for a small bottle.

After-dinner walk with Colette on the condo grounds, in very loose fitting running shoes. No appreciable pain in the toes.

Walking 33:22 [3] 2.03 mi (16:26 / mi) +130ft 15:30 / mi

After-dinner walk with Colette out to the black cows and back. Only 36°F with a strong wind, so we hustled for the first mile, just to stay warm.

Hiking 1:45:25 [3] 5.12 mi (20:35 / mi) +380ft 19:14 / mi

Hiking on the trails at Bard College many of which lead down to the Hudson River and then north to Tivoli Bays. Today was a chance to do a bit of bushwahcking, just to see if there were any other trails nearby; there weren't, but I did find a couple of trails that were blazed, that I had never been on.
