Hiking 4:49:26 [3] 10.9 mi (26:33 / mi) +1400ft 23:40 / mi

Hike on the Finger, the double black-diamond mountain bike trail north of Reservoir Road in Lenox. The previous attempt took more than five hours, but now I'm more familiar with where the trail actually goes. Hence, I was a bit faster since I neither got lost nor stood around trying to figure out where the trail was.

Beautiful day, low 60s F, a strong breeze and lots of sunshine.

Only saw two bikers, who were off their bikes on a parallel trail--and one of them was cursing his bike.

Hiking 2:17:02 [3] 5.69 mi (24:05 / mi) +875ft 21:01 / mi

Hike with Colette along the ridge out to Spruce Hill and back on BNRC property.

There are a numer of geocaches there, so we just hiked steadily to Spruce Hill and searched for the caches on the way back--found a total of 15. Time shown above is our moving time, not the total time on the trail.

Very pleasant weather, cool with a nice breeze most of the time. And fluffy clouds in the blue sky, too.

Hiking 1:52:29 [3] 5.13 mi (21:56 / mi) +655ft 19:34 / mi

Hike with Colette at Holiday Farm in Dalton. She had recently geocached there and was keen to show me the trails. They were pretty nice, a little rooty in sections, but others spots were clear and pine needle covered.

As I recall the farm hosted weekly mountain bike races there a few years back, so there are probably numerous trails to be visited.

Walking 1:28:27 [3] 5.11 mi (17:19 / mi) +230ft 16:36 / mi

Walk out past Woods Pond and then back home via Crystal Street in Lenoxdale. Sun was shining, and it was warm an humid when I started, but by the time I got to Woods Pond the rain began--which was nice and cooling, so I didn't mind being a little wet.

Walking 35:00 [3] 2.03 mi (17:14 / mi) +160ft 16:03 / mi

Walk with Colette out toward the black cows and back. Good to get out before it gets too hot, or wet later as they are predicting.

Hiking 3:54:37 [3] 11.01 mi (21:19 / mi) +1725ft 18:33 / mi

Hike on the bike trails south of Reservoir Road in Lenox. I added another trail to the mix--out to New Bald Head-- making the distance 11 miles.

Rained for a little bit, but no isolated T-storm, so I was thankful for that.

Walking 34:35 [3] 2.02 mi (17:07 / mi) +130ft 16:08 / mi

Walk with Colette out to the black cows and back.

Walking (geocaching) 53 [3] 1.32 mi (40 / mi) +250ft 34 / mi

A short hike up Walnut Mountain in the Paugnut State Forest in Connecticut with a geocaching friend of Colette's, Barb. We were hoping to find a cache that has only been found once in seven years. Unfortunately, we joing the DNF list (Did Not Finish).
