Hiking 2:00:56 [3] 7.2 mi (16:48 / mi) +640ft 15:30 / mi

Hike with Colette in Beartown State Forest. Quite a few people out today, most of them driving up top and then going out for a hike or bike ride.

We did a loop that included passing close to the summit of Mt. Wilcox. Sunny and warm.

Hiking 2:16:12 [3] 5.0 mi (27:14 / mi) +505ft 24:52 / mi

Hike with Colette on parts of The Finger Trail, her first intro to the heart of the trail. I made her lead so that she could sharpen her trail following skills, skills which certainly needed sharpening. ;-) We did get one geocache that we happened to be close to.

A beautiful sunny day, but we were under leaf cover almost the entire hike.

And now, of course, she liked the trail and wants to go back, but not by herself.

Hiking 35:19 [3] 2.02 mi (17:29 / mi) +190ft 16:03 / mi

Hike with Colette out to and along Washington Mountain Road and then back to the condo.

Hiking 1:42:44 [3] 6.08 mi (16:54 / mi) +270ft 16:13 / mi

Hike with Colette from Woods Pond along Woodland Road and back. Cool and moist, but the black flies and FDFs were a bit annoying.

Got out early to avoid any incoming thunderstorms.

7 PM

Walking 19:16 [3] 1.05 mi (18:21 / mi) +112ft 16:40 / mi

After-dinner walk with Colette on the condo grounds. Thunderstorm blew through and it was rather nice by the time we got out.

Hiking (and walking) 2:19:46 [3] 5.82 mi (24:01 / mi) +1290ft 19:51 / mi

Hike with Colette along the AT from the summit out to Mount Williams, then down to the paved road and back toward Mt. Greylock. But we took a little trail that brought us to the AT, which we followed back to the summit.

It was cool and moist heading out to Mount Williams, but once on the road, the sun was beating down and we got fairly hot and sweaty.

We cooled off afterwards at the Dairy Cone in Pittsfield.

Hiking 2:31:57 [3] 6.76 mi (22:29 / mi) +940ft 19:52 / mi

Hike on the bike trails to the south of Reservoir Road. Trails were cleaner than normal thanks to yesterday's deluge from the thunderstorm. And the temperature was in the low 70s, so very nice conditions for a hike.

Met one other person, with her dog, a friendly dog.

Hiking 1:37:24 [3] 6.05 mi (16:06 / mi) +375ft 15:12 / mi

Hike with Colette along Goose Pond Road and back. Very nice, cool morning.

7 PM

Walking 43:24 [3] 2.53 mi (17:09 / mi) +165ft 16:09 / mi

After-dinner walk with Colette out to the black cows and back. The late-afternoon thunderstorm dumped a ton of water, but the roads were clear when we got out. And the temperature had dropped a couple of degrees, making for very pleasant walking.

Hiking 2:10:15 [3] 6.0 mi (21:43 / mi) +690ft 19:35 / mi

An out-and-back hike on The Finger trail. Put a little effort into the hike for a change. I felt pretty good and the threat of a thunderstorm was good motivation, too. Saw no one on the trail.
