Hiking 2:24:33 [3] 7.3 mi (19:48 / mi) +851ft 17:50 / mi

Hike with Colette on the bike trails to the north of New Lenox Road and into the Pittsfield Watershed area. Fairly cold, so we had jackets, hats, and gloves.

Met one mountain biker and saw a couple of hikers.

Hiking 1:48:28 [3] 6.69 mi (16:13 / mi) +75ft 16:03 / mi

Hike with Colette on the Housatonic Rail Trail. We parked at Pixley Hill Road and went south and then back to the car. From there we went north a little, just to dig up some ground cover that I wanted, and then back to the car.

Saw six piglets on the trail (escaped from the near-by farm), one runner with a dog, two hikers, and three women on mountain bikes.

Rather cool, we agreed that gloves might have been a good idea.

Hiking 1:30:20 [3] 5.13 mi (17:37 / mi) +669ft 15:40 / mi

Hike in Kennedy Park, my somewhat usual five-mile loop. Met one biker and saw another half-dozen people on foot.

Cool with a stiff breeze at times.

Hiking 2:09:35 [3] 6.76 mi (19:10 / mi) +1056ft 16:42 / mi

Hike on the bike trails to the south of Reservoir Road. I pushed the pace from the beginning since I wanted to see if I could set a PR to the highest point on what is called the Powee High trail. Believe it got a new one in 28:41. But that really left me tired for the rest of the hike. LOL

Wednesday Sep 16 #

Hiking 1:33:05 [3] 5.25 mi (17:44 / mi) +650ft 15:52 / mi

Hike in Kennedy Park. Numerous hikers and three O.G. mountain bikers.

Cool enough to wear a long-sleeved shirt.

Hiking 2:04:44 [3] 6.21 mi (20:05 / mi) +1296ft 16:46 / mi

Hike on the bike trails to the south of Reservoir Road, my "usual" loop of about six miles. Didn't see a soul, but I did see a bird pretending to be injured and flapping around on the ground--guess I was a bit too close to the nest.

Cool enough at 50°F and a slight breeze, that I opted for a long-sleeved shirt.

Monday Sep 14 #

Walking 1:20:43 [3] 4.22 mi (19:08 / mi) +860ft 16:02 / mi

An out-and-back hike on the Taconic Crest Trail from Route 20 in Pittsfield.

Didn't meet anyone on the trail.
