Hiking 1:55:55 [3] 6.93 mi (16:44 / mi) +555ft 15:33 / mi

Hike in Kennedy Park which will be part of the Kennedy Park Challenge. One can opt to do all the trails as fast as possible over days, or one can opt to do the shortest possible continuous route over days. And the challenge has various categories: running, biking and hiking, along with various age groups: retired/still working, oldest/youngest, open, or parents with kids/dogs. Should be fun.

Hiking 2:32:51 [3] 8.2 mi (18:38 / mi) +1339ft 16:09 / mi

Hike with Colette at Alford Springs. Another warm day with lots of sunshine. We saw a lot of people on the trails today, including close to a dozen little kids in one group.

We explored a path a bit more southernly than the blue-blazed Mother Trail and were rewarded with a rather nice trail, slightly wet in spots, but it got some extra distance for us.

Hiking 2:25:23 [3] 7.65 mi (19:00 / mi) +1047ft 16:49 / mi

Hike on the trails to the south of Reservoir Road. Up to 70°F today, so I was back to wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

Met a couple of bikers and one hiker with two pugs, off lease and very excited to see me. ;-)

Hiking 2:44:39 [3] 7.05 mi (23:21 / mi) +1233ft 20:02 / mi

Hike on part of The Finger bike trail north of Reservoir Road. As much as I like this trail, it's getting a bit hard to follow due to the abundant fallen leaves and the numerous blowdowns across the trail. And did I mention the acorns underfoot? Veritable ball bearings under the slippery oak leaves. And even the sun isn't very co-operative in the afternoon since it so much lower in the sky, creating either lot of glare off the leaves, or a darker trail when walking away from the sun. So, looks like the easier to follow trails at Kennedy Park, or to the south of Reservoir Road, will soon be the better options.

Had the trail to myself once again.

Hiking 2:07:12 [3] 7.51 mi (16:56 / mi) +430ft 16:04 / mi

Hike in The Boulders in Pittsfield and Dalton. A bit warmer than yesterday, but still pretty windy, so chilly at times. I opted for this place since it was close to the bakery where I bought some bread.

Not a lot of people out and they were mainly dog walkers.

Hiking 2:24:31 [3] 7.0 mi (20:39 / mi) +970ft 18:15 / mi

Hike on the bike trails to the south of Reservoir Road. Cold and windy. There were numerous trees across the trail due to the high winds overnight.

Had the trails to myself.
