Hiking 2:44:22 [3] 9.1 mi (18:04 / mi) +1210ft 16:03 / mi

Hike Up & Down Schermerhorn Road:

A little excitement today when I met a bunch of ATV'ers on Schermerhorn. Turns out that a guy driving his 4-wheel pickup truck while towing an ATV trailer spun out, driving uphill. Had to disconnect the trailer. And then his ATV friends made a tow-line of four ATVs connected via their winch lines and proceeded to tow the trailer up the hill.

As I reversed direction, they were still working on the exit plan; they hoped to go past the Anderson Vista and then out to Becket.

Hiking 1:50:23 [3] 6.22 mi (17:45 / mi) +690ft 16:04 / mi

Hike With Colette along Reservoir Road and down to Pleasant Valley and back. Originally, we had planned to hike to Lenox Mountain, but Colette soon discovered that wearing tight leggings and boots just let the snow get right inside the boots fairly quickly. :-)

Friday Nov 26 #

Walking 1:50:56 [3] 6.24 mi (17:47 / mi) +600ft 16:18 / mi

Walk on the condo grounds. Lacking much motivation to do a long hike in the rain/snow, I opted instead for a walk close to home--very close.

Thursday Nov 25 #

Walking 2:56:33 [3] 10.0 mi (17:39 / mi) +700ft 16:33 / mi

Walk in the 'Hood. My big toe wasn't too happy after yesterday's trail outing, so I needed a more uniform surface today, aka roads. A bit boring, but also somewhat enjoyable since the usual traffic was MIA.

Wednesday Nov 24 #

Hiking 2:41:55 [3] 8.49 mi (19:04 / mi) +1150ft 16:54 / mi

Hike in Beartown State Forest. I had to work hard to find an 8-mile loop, my maximum for today's hike. Came close, but Gaia GPS tends to underestimate the distance of routes that I create.

Trails a bit icy in the usual wet sections, and tons of slippery Oak leaves on the trails.

8 AM

Walking 36:03 [3] 2.0 mi (18:01 / mi) +180ft 16:36 / mi

Pre-breakfast walk on the condo grounds.

11 AM

Hiking 1:44:25 [3] 5.2 mi (20:05 / mi) +600ft 18:06 / mi

Hike on the bike trails to the south of Reservoir Road. This is my favorite hiking area, but I only needed five miles to reach my target of seven miles for the day, so I had to cut my loop short.

Monday Nov 22 #

Hiking 1:52:39 [3] 6.15 mi (18:19 / mi) +675ft 16:36 / mi

Hike in Kennedy Park.

Seems that I was a bit under-dressed, so I had to move along, even if I hadn't planned to do so.
