Walking 2:04:40 [3] 6.24 mi (19:59 / mi) +1011ft 17:19 / mi

Hike on Jerusalem Road, The Cobble, and the AT:

Hike with Colette along Jerusalem Road, which is usually an out-and-back for us, but we mixed it up today and decided to loop over The Cobble and take the AT back to Jerusalem Road. We saw a bobcat when heading over to The Cobble.

Met a north-bound AT thru hiker from Hawaii who started in April and hoped to finish by mid-June.

Walking 2:17:45 [3] 6.86 mi (20:05 / mi) +597ft 18:33 / mi

Hike in The Boulders:

Hike with Colette before we went grocery shopping.

The trails were empty today--not a single person was encountered. We even hiked a bit on the AT.

Rewarded my efforts afterward with a soft-serve at Dairy Cone.

Walking 33:00 [3] 2.0 mi (16:30 / mi) +80ft 15:54 / mi

Walk with Colette out to the black cows and back along Bradley Street. Warm and muggy, so I was definitely overdressed.

Hiking 2:00:17 [3] 6.6 mi (18:13 / mi) +791ft 16:22 / mi

Kennedy Park Hike:

Not much of a window to escape the rain, but worth the try. There weren't a lot of people on the trails, I saw one dog-walker and one hiker. However, I did see 112 salamanders and they obviously love the wet ground and some light rain.

Hiking 2:19:26 [3] 6.75 mi (20:39 / mi) +840ft 18:29 / mi

Hike from Reservoir Road:

A bit cooler on the ridge than in town and a good breeze from time to time, too.

I did a little exploring along an old trail that was quite steep and had a lot of blowdown on it. But it allowed me to get on The Finger for a while--I was expecting that trail to be in good shape, but evidently there has been no trail maintenance of the section that I was on. I'll have to see if the guys that used to do that work have given up on The Finger or not.

Didn't meet anyone on the trails today.

Hiking (trail running) 1:45:13 [3] 7.15 mi (14:43 / mi) +59ft 14:36 / mi

Hike/Run on the Mary Flynn Trail:

Goal today was to complete a run of at least three miles at a comfortable pace. Warmed up with a 1.8-mile hike, and then ran for 3.2 miles at just over 11 minutes per mile. Cooled down with some hiking at a leisurely pace to ge to 7.15 miles.
